el_jewapo Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 I'm a believer in a full moon increases your chances to catch a big bass, I missed out on fishing this one though. I've been sick. Quote
bassackwards Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 well, like they say, whatever gives you confidence to catch them fish! Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted August 26, 2005 Super User Posted August 26, 2005 I am a firm believer that the big dog walks on the darkest moon phase. The biggest yellow cats are caught during the dark of the moon. As far as wildlife goes, I have lived in the Texas Hill country most of my 44 yrs and you will see some deer feeding in the full moon. or moon light. But you will see 2 to 3 times more on darker nights. The heat which has been 100+ will make deer feed when opportunity arises. Cooler temps. But the cover of darkness allows preditors an advantage, or smaller animals the cover of darkness to feed. Ever notice you don't see as many cottontails and or Jackrabbits out in the moonlight? They can see to feed. The best winter days on Lake Fork are from 11am-3pm when the sun is at its peak warming up the shallows. Watch the weather, lake fishing pressure, prevailing winds, and current fishing reports to determine your best chance. Quote
Michael H Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 i think the only reason people catch more fish at night when ther is a full moon is because they can see what they are doing and can see signs of fish Quote
