I have been fishing a pond of mine, but i have great trouble fishing anything besides topwaters and shallow cranks, since the bottom is coated with some black muddy grass type stuff. It will wrap around the line or weight of a t-rig and jig. Any advice?

I also have the same kind of problem in my local pit that I fish.  The bottom foot or so is all "skunk grass" that is so thick I can't even use any type of spinner or crankbait.  The only thing I can really do is pitch into a few open pockets, but it would be nice to try some other stuff too.

Use a C-rig witha 2-3 ft leader, the bait will dart above the grass.

That's just like my pond.  Lot's of decayed weeds and algae. What I do is throw a weightless Senko and don't try to move it for at least 20 seconds. I have had some great success lately swimming a 1/4 oz. brown jig with a five inch Fat Albert grub occasionally killing it to drop down a couple of feet.  I like the Manns 1 minus for cranking.  You can keep it just a few inches under the surface.  On top I like buzzbaits and waking a spinnerbait.
