Free catalogues

wasn't sure if this was to be posted here or 'everthing else' section

I went to bassproshops site to order a freshwater fishing catalogue and after a few emails, found out bassproshops freshwater catalogue is out of stock and wont be available until 2006.  

I went to cabelas and they don't offer a freshwater fishing catalogue.  

so I was wondering how that works and why they seem dont have more available until next year?

they is probably a real high demand for them.  the 2006 one should be a dandy.  with cabelas, they have there catalogues in catagory.  get the one for bass fishing.

You can go to cabelas or pro bass on the inter-net and log on their catalog section. they have all their 05 catalogs listed. pick the one you want to see and you can view each page individually plus order from it.        hope this helps.

I just ordered a Cabelas master catalog, I am not sure what you mean they don't offer one?

they dont offer just bass fishing.

and maybe its all in there for master, if so, then cool.  I ordered the BPS master catalogue was geared towards hunting and left out much of their fishing.  I didn't know if cabelas was the same.

the guy posted before to order their bass fishing catalogue, but they dont have one.

The Cabelas Master is almost all hunting. You have to order The Bass/Crappie one.

trust us cabelas does have a fishing catalogue.  last year they sent me a hard back master spring catalogue.  BOY is it NICE!!!  i dont think its left the bathroom yet.  lol

I know what you mean. They have mags for walleye, fly fishing, and saltwater, but no freshwater or bass fishing mags. I just ordered the marine catalog though.

I was hoping the Cabella's master catalog had EVERYTHING in it...I was wrong.  It is ALL related to hunting (my 6 year old son was thrilled!)

I saw no Bass catalog from Cabela's either, but am still looking, as well.

As I sit here looking at my Cabelas Master Catalog-Fall 2005 Edition, it is all hunting.  However, there is a "Tackle Shop" specialty catalog listed, along with numerous others.  You might try looking for that on their website.

The last time I visited a Gander Mountain store, I asked the same thing and was told..."Gander Mountain sold their catalog operation to Cabelas but we'll likely develop another catalog in the future."  If that's true, I'm sure there were conditions placed on the sale of the catalog operation that would prohibit Gander Mountain from developing a similar catalog for several years.  I still haven't seen a catalog and I can't even find a listing of products on their website.

well it isn't just cabelas it is bass pro shops as well.

I was askin u all to see if its common for them to run out at the end of the year and only print more when the 2006 comes out?

bassproshops said they were all out of stock and wont be back until 2006.  

I was wonderin if this is common.  and I see cabelas does the same.

I guess the way the question was written initially it sounded as though Cabelas did not offer a Bass/Crappie 2005 catalog. Oh well

Yea BPS and Cabelas run out of those catalogs early. I got mine in January.

I would think that it's fairly common for companies to run out of catalogs near a year's end.  My concern would be how early Cabelas or BPS plans to print their '06 catalogs.  It could be that their '06 books are due out in a few weeks, even though we're still several months away from the new year.  I'm a sales rep for a major distributor of motorcycle/atv parts and accessories.  As an example of the above, my company ran out of '05 motocross gear catalogs early, but our '06 catalogs were printed and available starting in July of 2005.

Yea Gander plans to have a catalog and online site in 2006. Right now they are in a legal battle over name rights so who knows how that will play out.
