I'm trying to find a pair of light yellow (60-70% light transmission) fitover type polarized sunglasses.

Or, if nothing is available have a pair of prescription glasses made.

I've tried the Coccon brand of yellow fitover type but the yellow is too dark.

About ten years ago a local optician at a Wallmart store obtained polarized bifocal blanks that had a very very light grey tint.  He then dyed them a very light yellow.  They are wonderful to use in the early dawn or late in the day or on very dark overcast days.  Unfortunately the prescription is out of date.

The optician says that Wallmart does not have access to polarized "blanks"?.  Other local opticians plead ignorance.

Does anyone now of any fitover type sunglasses with high light transmission or of companies that might make custom one?

Thanks much for any help.

There is a company called "Fit Overs" that makes sunglasses for guys like you and me that wear prescription glasses.  You can check out their website, they make lots of different styles.  Also, if there is a flyfishing shop near you (Orvis, etc.) they sometimes carry them.  I had a pair until I went for an unexpected swim during a tournament one day, they don't float with a d**n :-[  I think Solar Bats also makes a "fit over" style, but not sure.

Thanks for the reply, I don't believe that Fitovers  have a yellow.  I do have their amber, however, they are too dark early and late and on very cloudy dark days.
