kbj3579 Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 If you could fish any lake in the U.S. Where would it be? Quote
DDbasser Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 I'd like to fish the big "O" or any of the Kissimee chain. Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 16, 2005 Super User Posted August 16, 2005 In the US ? oh well, Castaic, just because I now that WR LMB is waiting there for me to catch it and also because there haven 't been any news about a 20 pounder being landed in Bacurato. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted August 16, 2005 Super User Posted August 16, 2005 I would like a week on Lake Fork during the peak of the spawn, with no other boats on the water. If any of you have fished Fork in the middle of the spawn you know what I mean. It's like trying to fish in the middle of Times Square. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 16, 2005 Super User Posted August 16, 2005 Small water: Ray Scott's pond. Many of you wouldn't find this challenging, but I'd like to get tired of all those 7 & 8 lb bass stealing my lure away from the 10's and 12's I'm really after. Big water: Guntersville, Percy Priest, Center Hill and Dale Hollow. If I didn't fish Pickwick and Kentucky Lakes almost every weekend, I'd include them, too. I guess I have a preference for smallmouth bass. Quote
razyrsharpe Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Probably Lake Fork Texas just because i have heard so much about it. want to see what the fuss is about. Quote
ECP1989 Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 I'd really like to fish Lake Guntersville and like the others I'd also like Lake Fork. Quote
nwgabassmaster Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Well, for all of those that would like to fish G-ville, give me a ring. I am only 1 hour from it, and I have fished it a couple of times. HUGE bass in it, absolutely huge. I have the pleasure of fishing G-ville, so, that's off my list. ;D So, I would have to say Lake Toho, the sight for the 2006 Classic, Lake Fork, and Lake Norman, site of the 2004 Classic. Possibly Percy Priest for some smallmouths. Quote
abelfisher Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Castaic in Southern CA, Clear Lake in northern CA, and Lake Fork;supposedly that is #2 compared to Castaic with the possibility of the next WR. But, I also know of some small lakes/ponds back in Indiana that I would just love to go back and fish in a 14 ft jonboat. But that's just me! Quote
BASSMAN1301599783 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Barrett Lake in Southern CA. But I would only fish it if it was free. You have to buy tickets through ticketmaster. 40 bucks a day! http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0A003AE899DD68A6?artistid=821868&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=102 Quote
Muddpuppy Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 I really want to fish one of the canyon lakes in the western states. I think Roservelt fits the bill and I hear in a couple of years should be a hot spot. Not that I have ever fished that type of lake. I would like to spend a little more time on Kentucky lake and hopefully maybe make it down to Guntersville on one of our trips to Alabama which will hopefully be soon. The chain would make a nice trip in Florida and so would the 1000 Islands in New York. Quote
BASSMAN1301599783 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Im moving to Surprise AZ in a few months and roosevelt is about an hour away. If you ever get out thair let me know. Quote

texasbass1 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Alan Henry near Lubbock TX. It turned out 6 this year over 14 lbs. I've fished Fork, great lake y'all should come and try it. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 I'd settle for roadwarriors back seat. Quote
metalhack Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Small water: Ray Scott's pond. Oooooh...Good one. I would have to go with Castaic. Quote
senko_77 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 i go to guntersville alot, but i really want to go to okechobee so i can throw my frogs in that grass Quote
kbj3579 Posted August 17, 2005 Author Posted August 17, 2005 Pa Angler I made it U.S. because I knew almost everyone would say El Salto, if I included Mexico. LOL!!!! That place must be like a bass fisherman's (fisherperson- need to be politicly correct) paradise. Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 17, 2005 Super User Posted August 17, 2005 For all you guys who would like to fish El Salto, just to let you know........Bacurato is a much, much better lake than "El Salto", Bacurato holds the latinoamerican record ( over 19 pounds ), fish over 20 pounds have been sighted in Bacurato by divers and locals, Bacurato has better accomodations than "El Salto", you don 't get mugged in Bacurato. And this is what you can find in Bacurato: This is what was landed at the begining of the year: 18.11 lbs Who wants to fish "El Salto" now ? Quote
Hookhead Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Lake Dixon in San Diego. "Dixon has proven to be an incubator for big bass as proven by local fishing celebrity Mike Long who caught a 20 lb. 12 oz. bass during April of 2001. Before this huge fish there were 5 other bass over 16 lbs. caught during spring 2001, 2 of which were over 17 lbs. This is not to mention many other 'teen' sized bass from previous years. Despite the sheer numbers of large bass, Dixon has kept a low-profile on its bass fishery as San Diego has at least 6 other lakes that are better known for their bass fishing. Dixon is better known for it's winter trout fishing and summer nighttime catfishing which can both be phenomenal at times" Quote
senko_77 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 i guess bacuratu sounds pretty good. i mean 18 + lbers. is ok. lol. sounds awesome Quote
BASSMAN1301599783 Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Hookhead wgere do you live? I fish Dixon and all the other lakes in San Diago county every weekend. Quote
hawghunter Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Mexico is the $hit for sure........pics speak for them self ....oh dang , you said US ....well it would be in Texas, California or Florida....no doubt! HH Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I'd have to say Pittsburgh...NOT! I'd like to fish Toho.My son lives in Orlando.I could visit him and have a quality fishing experience. Quote
Guest DavidGreen Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I would like to go back home to San Diego (from Poway) and fish the canyons, Dixon, Hodges, and El Cap again. Loved pulling big fish from 40+ feet, and the top water bite at El Cap. Tight Lines.......... Quote
