I went to the Bass Pro Shop while  I was in Myrtle Beach this weekend. I checked out the TM's and the GPS units. They got one GPS in there that is about 12" big and around $2240. You can almost see your house on that thing. I only spent $10 somehow?! I'm going back in like 2 weeks to get a new MINN-KOTA trolling motor, think i'm going to get the 40 lb 42" shaft, foot controlled, 5 speed for $309.00. If anyone knows of any better deals, please let me know.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about wal-mart trolling motors. I looked at them a while back but never made the connection that it was the exact same one that BPS was selling. Are they easy to mount? I've never mounted a TM  myself, wonder if I can use the pre-drilled holes from the old TM already on there? Guess we'll find out soon.

Fishin fool, You went to BPS and only spent $10 You've got more self control than I do LOL!!!

Last time I went to BPS I was only planning on spending $50 ended up spending $150

I went to the BPS in Hampton VA two weeks ago with a buddy that wanted to buy a new boat. Of course while he was making his purchase I started to wonder around. $335 out of my wallet later, we were heading home!!!

On those trolling motors, try to get one with a battery "maximizer" that uses a lot less energy.  You'll save your batts.  Check the TM box.  Minn-Kota is proud of this feature and you'll see it prominently featured. I doubt youcan get one of these for $300.  If you can let me know. You can usually get two day's fishing from one batt charge, with the "maximizer" feature, but go ahead and charge them if you can as soon as you get off the water.

Speaking of BPS - anyone had an opportunity to check the new one out in Vegas? Got a peek at it last weekend - and I'm just thankful I still own my house  ;)

Spent four hours there - didn't see a 10th of it. They have a whole upper floor of camping and hunting stuff that I didn't even get a peek at. Very cool place - and definately worth a look see if you are in the neighborhood...

$1200 will go a long way toward feeding the baitmonkey!! ;D

Yes - plenty of cabs. It's inside a casino (don't remember the name right off) - so cabs should not be a problem. Again, worth a peek...

I will have to go to bsp next jan. when we go to the wold of concrete. im glad to know there are cads that run around there. when i would ask a driver about it half of them did not know if i would be able to get back. the 1200 bucks ended up going to the doctor cause my gf got in a wreck while i was there. she was ok just mild whiplash.

thanks for the info.

Isn't it funny.  Us guys typically hate to shop.  Going to the mall with the wife???  No way!  She can go when I take my Sat. afternoon naps. :)  Face  it, we hate to shop!!!  Unless of course, it is to BPS or our favorite tackle shop.  And usually we always find a way to justify our large expenditures..at least to ourselves.  Our wive's might differ, but it never stops us, does it?  Funny, ain't it? :)
