metalhack Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I never met anyone on the list...but from watching tv I would have to say Ike would be my first. It seems as though even if you were not catching any fish, you would still have fun. I think every sport needs a guy like him. He adds color and he is also very passionate about fishing. Quote
Nick_Barr Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Top 6: Aaron Martens (Favorite angler) Rick Clunn ( so Precise and could learn alot) Gerald swindle (Like me, A motormouth and funny) Denny Brauer (Fishes Like Me) Ike (Gets excited like me) Greg Hackney (Could teach me how to start in the bass fishing business) Honarable Mention: KVD (Good All Around) Quote
JTL Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Nick Barr... I like your list, anyone of those would be good to spend a day with... I would have to go with KVD as my favorite, I've always liked his style of fishing, it's alot like mine... One other that I would add to the list is Davy Hite, I think he is just a great person... tie1on Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Larry Nixon because I would like to learn the art of being a worm dragger.I fish a little too fast.Edwin Evers is my favorite fisherman because he will get back in the most cluttered areas to get to the fish. Quote
Phishn_Phool Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 George Cochran...We have something in common...AGE..LOL.also anyone who can win a 1/2 million dollar tourny on a buzzbait is my kind of a guy CPR ;D Quote
FutureClassicChamp Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 if i were to pick one person to fish with it would be no question, Kevin VanDam. if it was anybody, but, a pro angler itd be -- denise richards lol Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 1, 2005 Super User Posted August 1, 2005 Al Lindner. He and his brother wrote the book on smallmouth fishing on a river. I would like him to show me what I've been missing. Al won't mind catching some monster smallies on live bait. I guess if he's going to fish with me, he'll have to come on down to the Tennessee River! I'll bet he would have some fun, too. Quote
Guest avid Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 It's a toss up for me between Gary Yamamoto and Jimmy Houston. My first pick would probably be Gary Y. because his baits are so fabulous and I like his style of fishing. Jimmy Houston, makes me laugh. I think fishing with him would just be allot of fun, not to mention educational. If this were a list of three, I would also include Roland Martin. He basically wrote the book on bass fishing in Florida. Quote
Guest avid Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Oh, I forgot to mention that this is a fun thread. I really enjoyed fantasizing about fishing with different legends of the sport. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted August 1, 2005 Super User Posted August 1, 2005 Good luck try to catch a fish bigger than Roland. Your 10 lb'er is a 5 and his 5 lb'er is a 10. At least in his eyes. Quote
fatbass Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 It would be a great honor to fish with any number of the aforementioned pros. However, I think I'd just like to get dear ole Dad to trade a golf club for a fishing rod once. But if I did have to "settle" for some other partner I'd go with KVD. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 2, 2005 Super User Posted August 2, 2005 On second thought, how 'bout Terri Clark, Shania Twain or Faith Hill? Quote
kbj3579 Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Nick...I'm with you on all your choices. I too think Aaron is the man. Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I'd have to go with KVD. He has got to be the most versatile angler on the tour. I can fish any bait, but with a few days on the water with KVD, I know I would be better at them all. Brad Quote
abelfisher Posted August 3, 2005 Author Posted August 3, 2005 On second thought, how 'bout Terri Clark, Shania Twain or Faith Hill? Now That's what I'm talking 'bout! ;D ;D You think we'd catch any fish? Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 3, 2005 Super User Posted August 3, 2005 Jimmy Houston. Experience. Humor. Fun. A great all around guy. Quote
hawghunter Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 roadwarrior makes an exellent call with Al Linder! The Linder boys can catch fish, PERIOD........ KVD is one of my heros.......the guy can figure out how to catch fish, end of story.......... but, Denny Brauer is my all time favorite! I'm a die hard jig fisherman.....so go figure HH Quote
earthworm77 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 I look at this from a different angle. I know I could learn a lot from Pro's but more realistically, I'll never fish with one. Instead, I'd rather fish with a guy like RoadWarrior. I'm sure he could put me on to a few horse smallies! Kent if I'm ever over your way....you know I'll look you up! Quote
senko_77 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 ike all the way!!! he's my favorite fisherman! but i love gerald swindles smart @$$ mouth. cracks me up Quote
okieinoz Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Jimmy Houston....He's the man. Either him or Ike. Quote
BigbassBecker Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 all those pros would be kinda fun I guess. But I already know how to catch small fish. All they could teach me is how to catch more small fish. I would like to fish with the late Bill Murphy. Obviously I cant because he passed away so I would have to choose Mike Long. He has caught more then 50 bass over 15lbs and a few hundred over ten. Now he could teach me something. My next choice would be Crupi. He is the crawdad master. If I had to pick one of those small fish pros it would be Aaron Martins. He dominated out here. Quote
