abelfisher Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Of all the discussion about "Best Angler " on other threads, if you had an opportunity to fish with any of them for a day, who would you choose AND WHY??? I would like to spend a day with Bill Dance...Why? Good ol' Boy and a lot of years of experience. Would be an enjoyable outing! How about you? Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted July 31, 2005 Super User Posted July 31, 2005 Bill Dance, I would love to fish those ponds he fishes with all those hawgs. Other than that, I would love to fsh with KVD on my home lake and see what he can find that I can't ................or vice versa. ;D Quote
Super User 5bass Posted July 31, 2005 Super User Posted July 31, 2005 David Fritts. I'd like to see how he locates and fishes deep structure, boat positioning on the structure and presentation. Quote
crank it Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Rick clunn He is so knowlegable and he fishes with such precision. Quote
Will Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Gerald Swindle, he is just a crazy character and I believe it would be loads of fun to fish with him. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 If I could fish with anyone, it would be George W. Bush. I'd love the opportunity to push his azz in the water. But if it had to be someone in the greatest angler debate, I would pick Denny cause everyone could use a little schoolin' and I am a dedicated jig fisherman and I'd like to be fine tuned by the best. krisjack69 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I would want to fish with Bill Dance. I would want to catch some hawgs like he does on his show.Plus he's my favorite fishing angler.Been watching his show all my life just about. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted July 31, 2005 Super User Posted July 31, 2005 Ike. I have talked with him a few times in the last few years and he is always will to stop what he is doing. He ends up asking more questions than I do and I have learned allot from him. Now I usually don't dog someone's opinion but when I started reading this post I was expecting there to be names like Fritts, KVD, Brauer and so on but Hank Parker made me stop for a second. See, I have tried to talk to him a few times. He just seemed to be an arrogant person and very difficult to talk to. It seemed like he had somewhere else to be but as long as he was talking about himself he would stay. Quote

I've read other comments that indicate he's not exactly like the image projected on his TV show. Quote
Wabassin Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 EIther Skeet Reese Or Aaron Martens because they are both western anglers, and know the waters on the west coast. Quote
bigbass Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 that's a tough one, there's about 3 or 4 anglers I would like to spend the day with on the water, but if I had only one choice it would have to be Kevin Vandam...... Quote
Cujo Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Bill Dance. because he has the knowledge and experience and because he is bill dance! Quote
ball_coach_1 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 That is a good question and a great post. I would like to fish with VanDam. Let me take that back. I would just like to ride in the boat and watch. The speed and precision of his casts, the amount of water he covers, and obviously the way/speed in which he put a pattern together. Quote
bassguy Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Jimmy Houston cuz he seems like a ton of fun to fish with and he is very deadly with a spinnerbait and plastic worm o ya.. and cuz he lives on his own private lake with tons of lunkers ;D Quote
Cajun1977 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 rowland martin cause hes a great american fisherman he can fish anywhere anywhere theres water you know he will be there Quote
paully Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Iaconelli for sure. I'd learn a lot and hes a spaz too Quote
Shad_Master Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 For me it would be Gerald Swindle - this guy is a motor mouth and I love to hear him talk. I would also like to fish with Rick Clunn, Larry Nixon or George Cochran. Fishing with KVD would be so cool, but he and I fish differently and I would probably be worn out by the end of the day Quote
Curado Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 VanDam, IMO he's the best angler on the circuit right now and I love his style of fishing. Quote
DDbasser Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I'd have to say Ike! the man is so passionate about bass fishing and has tons of knowledge, plus he seems like he'd be a blast to fish with. Quote
digdug Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I would say Rick Clunn. I can't belive Bill Dance, made the list. If you've ever met him or dealt with off stage you might think differently. If there is not money in it for him, he wants nothing to do with it. But he is a VERY sharp business man. Quote
J-Heywood Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 ike all the way, the guy is so exciting to watch it would have to be more exciting to actually fish with him. not to mention he has a ton more information in his head about fishing than i could ever imagine having Quote
SuthernProg Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 It seems some of you have been fortunate enough to have met some of these guys, But I have only met one or two in a simple meet and greet. Simply basing my choice off what I see on TV since there's not much else to base it on. Every star has a bad day, and not every fan is a good one. Quote
