Fishie Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 What should I get. I have line, hooks ,and weights. Quote
SuthernProg Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 A bag of 7" Red Shad Culprit worms dude, assuming the weights are bullet sinkers. If not, get the Culprits anyway. ;D Quote
Shad_Master Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Check the clearance bins - I got a whole bag of "stuff" last year for about $10.00 - used some and sold the rest at our club flea market and re-couped the $10 8) Quote
JUST_ONE_MORE_CAST Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 I found a really, really good deal at my wal-mart the other day. A 3600-type box chock full of soft plastics by luck-e-strike. Hooks, glass beads, slip bullets, senko types, flukes, french fries, lizards, several types of finesse worms. .....$7.99 If you can find that, get it. Quote
Okeechobee_Cracker Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 surthernProg is right get red culprits ive been catchin tons on them latley ;D Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 SProg is my kinda basser.Culprit 7" Red shad is my most productive plastic.Buy a bag of 'em.While you're at it,buy a bag of Culprit grape shad. It's # 2 in my book. Quote
piranha Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I don't think I have ever caught anything on a red worm. I haven't even read anyone recommending red worms. Hey R/W, is red "dark"? ;D I have the red culprits. You are telling me they work? How are you fishing them? Quote
kcaminitti Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 This time of year,,you definately want some soft plastics. Seems like all the bass will bite when the hot summer weather kicks in. Besides, you dont have to be an expert to catch fish on a worm. For years i caught bass just throwing them out and swimming them straight back. Culprits are great worms,,cant beat the tail action IMO. But i like the Tequila shad myself. Quote

Sorry about the screwup. They are red with a wide streak of black down the back, and yes, they really do catch bass. Quote
Muddpuppy Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 I kind of consider the red worms seasonal around here, late fall early spring. But the blk/red seems to have gotten pretty popular around here lately at least in the stores. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 I'd buy a couple of packages of zoom 7" worms in watermelonseed, a package of worm hooks, and some 1/4 oz. bullet weights. If your not into plastics, I'd buy a Chrome/blue Rat-l-trap and a shad colored torpedo. I could catch something on most days with one of those two. Quote
senko_77 Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 2 terminator t-2 spinnerbaits in the white color Quote
playmaker47 Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 you cant go wrong with some Zoom U-tails and Zoom Trick Worms. they are usually around 2 or 3 bucks so they are pretty cheap and they catch fish Quote
MyKeyBe Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 If you still have $10.00 or have scraped up another $10.00, look for the 150 piece Manns Dragin series bass combo kit. Super User Sam Posted July 29, 2005 Super User Posted July 29, 2005 If they have the Edge knockoffs of the Senkos then get a box. Some Wal-Marts have them and others do not. Quote
Pond-Pro Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I would definitley get the finness kit, 1/0 ewg Lazer sharp hooks(red), and a white spinnerbait. My Walmart has spinnerbaits for a dollar. They work pretty good. Quote
Cade Laufenberg Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 you cant go wrong with some Zoom U-tails and Zoom Trick Worms. they are usually around 2 or 3 bucks so they are pretty cheap and they catch fish I definetly agree, the zoom u-tails are the bomb! They have great action....go with either pumkin/chartruse, or as was said before: red shad...I have a pack of each. My dad and i caught several keeper bass last night on the pumpkin/chartruse.
