basser89 Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Hey All, I hop back and forth across the Mason Dixon line. LOL! I'm originally from central PA but now reside in MD. I fish everything from small ponds, to the upper Potomac and Juniata rivers and several small lakes (500 acres and smaller). I usually fish for largemouths but do chase after smallies from time to time. For a change of pace, I go after some toothy critters, the musky. Quote
Snag Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 NW corner of Ohio here. (Defiance) Big bustling metropolis of 16,000 lol... I fish in 2 bass clubs plus opens. Hope to get into some BFLs this year too. We fish in IN, OH and MI. Being a full time firefighter gives me time to fish. Maybe see some of you on the water. Look for a white and blue procraft with gold trim (like Bill Dance's old boat) listen for the cussing after the empty hook set and you'll find me. ;D Basst of luck all, Snag Quote
AUTgrPilot Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 I don't know Snag. That cussing you refer to after an empty hook set could just as well be me. The level or foulness of the word tells how many hook sets have gone bad. Quote
Snag Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 You mean someone else has the same "fishing vocabulary" as me lol...... Quote

papa1 Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Hi, I live in the SE corner of Kansas. We have a lot of old strip pits that the state has turned into some pretty good fishing over the years. Bass, Walleye, panfish, catfish. I Bass fish mostly, grandma likes panfish. You just about have to have a boat to fish the area. The pits are just deep open troughs cut into the ground where they stripped out the coal. The sides are steep and rugged. There are just a few places you can fish from the bank. The state is constantly putting in new boat ramps and acceses areas. Some pits are too small for a motor boat. Some will handle a big boat. I have a 14' Bass Tracker that's just fine for anything but the pits we use a Scamp in. The area also has plenty of White Tail deer, rabbits, squirrel and quail, so it's a great year-round area to hunt and fish. We even have Spoonbill close by. I've never snagged for them but who knows, maybe next year? papa1 Quote
billybass Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Western Ohio, near Dayton. I fish mostly streams for smallmouth, but take several out of state trips each year and at least one to upper Canada for 100 smallies a day. I just found this forum so I'm new. I have been a member of BD forum for a couple of years. I like what I've seen so far, and look forward to new friends. Bill Quote
hambone Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Right now I am in Panama City Fl, Tyndall AFB. I have had 7 assignments in 14 years, Problably go to OK city in 2007. Fish Deer Point Lake and little lakes around base. I use a white spinnerbait/texas rigged worm. I have fished a long time but I can't seem to get any better. Largest bass caught was 7lbs. Not bad, but as much as i fish i should have l landed a 10lber by now. I get in the same old routine, I need to try to work on not sticking to something that doesn't work. This is a great forum. God Bless America! My new years resolution is to try new techniques more than 4 or 5 casts:) Quote
