SO HELP ME OUT .  I'M GOING FISHING IN A COUPLE HOURS, MIDNIGHT TILL WHENEVER.  HOW ABOUT A COUPLE POSITIVE VIBES

I'm gonna have to take credit for that one.He picked that up in my boat.   I name all my lures.   Dirk jig-lure is the blk/brwn rocky ledge 1/8 oz finesse jig.

Fishing can produce some severe comedy.

I just got back from some night fishing, and unfortunately I missed the one bite that came on a jig. Got a quick question, do you wait a couple hours after dark to go fishing or do you fish right at dark for a couple hours? I went right before dark and fished 2 hours into dark. If I go later into the night would the fish become a little more active? I threw dark jigs, black bacon rinds, purple spinnerbait, and then a black buzzbait. Good luck to everyone else going night fishing.

I have this theory as well.

yanno, when me and my dad go fishin. we dont catch much. I have gone by myself and done good.

my aunt goes fishing and outfishes everyone. she dont know how to fish!

lol..

I asked her, "what are you thinking about when you fish?"

she said, "about catching fish"...

PROFOUND! as it sounded, I never thought of it!

I always thought, "I'm not going to catch a fish."... until I changed that thought, I never caught fish!

now I gotta keep remindin myself to think more positively.

also, there's a story along these lines...

A man was driving one night when he ran out of gas. the closest gas station was 15 miles. he looked around and there was a house far atop a hill. he proceded to walk towards this house to ask the man of the house if he could have some gas to get to the gas station and refill. on his walk up the hill, he began to think, "well, what if this guy doesn't have any gas?" a few minutes pass and he thinks, "well, even if he has some gas, will he have enough to give me?" then he thinks, "he might not even give me the gas, regardless if he has it and enough of it." he is almost to the house, while he is thinking, "yeah, this guy knows I need gas and he's going to enjoy not giving me any."  he arrives at the house and rings the doorbell. the man of the house opens the door, and the man needing gas says, "I DIDN"T WANT YOUR STUPID GAS ANYWAYS!" and he walks back to his car.

I am new to night fishing, just went for the first time on Thurs. night, but I did some homework. I stumbled across a ton of articles and many of them said the best bite will be after midnight. Bass can see in the dark much better than we can, but their eyes take a whole lot longer to adjust. I also read an article that predicetd that in the month of July and August, 90% of a bass's activity is between 12:00 am and 5:00am. I would dig some of those articles up for you, but duty calls.

I would be very concerned going out on a river or lake in the dark.

First, how can you see things in the water, like debris, rocks, tree stumps, pilings, etc.?

Second, as I have said before, Night = Snakes.

Third, bugs.  Do your boat lights attract bugs?

You guys have fun fishing at night.  I will see all around 5:30 AM any day of the week!

Well I hope that KU or low budget did better than we did......only caught 8 bass all shorties :-/.....oh well you can't catch'em if you ain't on the water!!

Fished 12:30 till about 5:45,  6 fish between the both of us.  I lost a monster on the horny toad.  Broke me off in the pads but that's what I get for throwing 10lb test back there.  All fish caught were on a senko or fat ika.  No size to speak of.

Beautiful night with the moon but this small cold front prevailed.  Still a great night to be out there.

Thanks Budget, I had no idea that would be an actual name. lmao. I figured it was one of your nick names. Anyways thanks. Do those work as well during the day & how do you rig it?

BTW, do you ever sleep? lol

1.  I sleep when the ice comes

2.  Horny toad is a nickname I use but not for a bait, lol

3.  texas rig it just like a fluke.  MUST use a 5/0 hook.  Body is very thick.

    a. Fish it like a topwater frog in the pads

    b. fish it like a buzzbait

    c. swim it like a fluke underwater

I've gotten my hits using a. and b.
