U.W BronzeBack Hunter Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 My friend recommends me to stock up on these spinnerbaits... good idea? They seem really finesse, so i think i'll end up using hem for smallmouth galore. But are they of good quality? Quote
flippin Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 they are alright i use them alot on the rivers here in ohio Quote
Steven Ladner Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I have some, they are made good and look good in the water. I usually fish with them when I want to catch numbers. Quote
BassinBoy Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Its more of a quanity bait But you never know, we see small finesse worms catching double digit bass, why not finesse spinnerbaits! Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Great for catching numbers, I've hooked a few 2 - 2 1/2lbers on it. I recommended it to a friend of mine who is just beginning to use spinnerbaits, if your new to spinnerbait fishin its a great bait. I also assume it would be good when your trying to imitate a smaller forage. I typically like to use a larger spinnerbait, 1/4oz Booyah Spinnerbait, or 1/4 oz Terminator. Quote
Mobydick Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I bought one and the blades wont turn continuosly, if I rip it they will, but then they stop. I have caught fish on it, but should I replace the swivels to get them to turn? Thanks, Ian Quote
smallieking Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 im not big into spinnerbaits at all but this one does produce for me in small rivers in the PA WV and MD region Quote
fishhunter33 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 BOOYAH POND MAGIC SPINNERBAITS ARE PRETTY GOOD BAITS EVERY BODY SHOULD OWN AT LEAST ONE. I GOT MY POND MAGIC LAST OCTOBER AND HAVE CAUGHT A FEW LARGEMOUTH. THE BAIT WILL WORK BEST IN THE SUMMER TIME. THERE IS ONE DISADVANTAGE TO THE BAIT THE BLADES DO NOT CONTINUOSLY SPIN, TO GET THE BLADES TO START BACK SPINNING GIVE IT A SMALL JERK. BUT OVERALL THEY ARE A GOOD QUALITY LURE Quote
Other. Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I have used it in numerous rivers and ponds and had great days with them. Like others had stated before me you will catch numbers but not necessarily large bass. I had problems though getting distance with it on baitcasting gear. Had to use spinning gear with it. Quote
BassinSoldier Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I have a couple that I use on some of the smaller ponds on Ft. Campbell and I do really well with them, especially when the fish are active. One of the ponds I fish stays pretty muddy and the pond magic with chartreuse and neon orange blades is about the only thing I can buy a bite on in that lil' pond. Good lil' numbers bait, and a good starter spinnerbait to get your confidence up. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted January 5, 2009 Super User Posted January 5, 2009 I bought one and the blades wont turn continuosly, if I rip it they will, but then they stop. I have caught fish on it, but should I replace the swivels to get them to turn? Thanks, Ian Try bending the arms a bit closer together. Won't work with titanium versions. It needs to be bent where you tie the line on so the arms stay straight. Bend in slight increments rather than over-bending. Use pliers or forceps. Quote
fathom Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 i voted no. for some reason, just never got into the booyah thing. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 6, 2009 Super User Posted January 6, 2009 No, want a good finesse spinnerbait go War Eagle. Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 War Eagle makes an incredible spinnerbait, definetly worth looking into Bronzeback. As far as the pond magics go, does anyone use a trailer hook on these? Seems like the bait is a bit small to equip any trailer hook to, no? Quote
Limpinglogan Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I cought my biggest of 08 on one...the fish seemed to like'em. I do not fish spinner baits much but they the booyah pond magic seemed to work pretty well... Quote
