jdw174 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 while I was walking around Wallyworld. I took one look at these little guys and had to take them home. They're Storms new WildEye Live Sunfish. 1/4oz and 2" long....comes in a 3-pack for $3.68. Kinda realistic lookin'...wouldn'tcha say? Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 They certainly do look realistic. Have you seen the model with the baby pike? It looks very real as well. As far as action, I've only tried the swimbait, so I couldn't tell you anything about it. I do know the swimbait worked well whenever I tried it. Quote
BASS fisherman Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Shoot man, consider yourself lucky if you got away with just one pack of those puppies. I went into a tackleshop last weekend to get ONE new casting rod. I walked out with FOUR. And just last night I was checking out a deal I heard about dealing with three reels. I planned on only buying one, maybe two. I ended up getting all three. ;) To answer your question...... I have seen those swimbaits. I got two packs of the same size in a bluegill pattern, and I got the 4inch version of the rainbow trout. I haven't thrown them enough because I just got them a month or so ago. Come on spring! Quote
Hawgin Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I like the looks of those, and I know a perfect lake for throwing a bluegill pattern. I have two questions about those, that maybe you guys can answer. 1. Do they make them in a bigger size? 2. Can you remove the treble hook from the belly? Quote

Other. Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Its a good idea to remove the treble hook. Quote
Mike B Fishin Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Its a good idea to remove the treble hook. I removed the treble, but had to add a small split shot to the hook hanger to get the balance. Once you figure out which split shot to use, add a little super glue to the hanger and crip it on. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Ive used those a little even though I haven't caught anything on them. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 1, 2007 Super User Posted February 1, 2007 The Bait Monkey doesn't come into play until you're clearing a store's shelves in fear of not being able to get your favorite baits anymore. A couple of weeks ago, I bought every pack of Kinami Flash that my local WM had. If they have restocked when I go back, I will probably clear them out again. Quote
jb_adams Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Obey the baitmonkey!! He has a bad temper!!! ;D Quote

Can you remove the treble hook from the belly? i actually bought these baits too and have caught lots of fish on them but they are not a top pick for my arsenal. they worked extremely well when the bass were feeding on spawning bluegill. and you can take the belly hook off. Quote
Bream Master Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Why take off the belly treble guys. Quote
Hawgin Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 The reason I would remove the belly treble is because the lake I want to use these in has a lot of grass in it, and the belly treble would tend to snag a lot. Quote
hookem12_0 Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 The wildeye sunfish is deadly on bedding bass. Just work it slow in and around their beds. They also make it in a 4 inch size. Quote
CrazedL.IFisherman Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Its good to hear you guys saying the sunfish pattern ones work, ive had them since last spring but havent used them, i cant wait, as far as the pike ones that actually look like pickerel, they definitely catch bass, ive caught what you would consider really nice bass in the quite a few northern waters as well as caught pickerel with them Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 2, 2007 Super User Posted February 2, 2007 my brother bought some recently but the lake froze over before he could them. That's a good point about the bedding bass though, good suggestion. Quote
Pa Angler Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Must have been a small Bait Monkey a Squirrel Monkey as it were. Quote
bass109 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 didnt really catch anything with the WildEye Live Sunfish. Quote
KenDammit28 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I own a pack of those. the 3 inch version and ironically..they catch a lot of crappie. I have only thrown them twice...they do work as they are supposed to(swimming right, tail moving..etc) The only trouble I had was that one of the lures kinda tilts to the side and I can't figure out how to straighten it back out..I've twisted and nudged everything but it still tilts to that one side every time, lol.
