The solunar table

I want to learn to read the solunar table that is provided here.  Exactly what do the times mean?  I know what the moon phases are and when the moon is overhead and underfoot, but how does that tell me the best times to fish?

not sure if they have one on this site, but the one on the infisherman site tells you the best days and times. you can use the solunar table as a model, but dont depend solely on that.

Rick Clunn: (1:30 PM ET ) there's two approaches to fishing: 1. a complete intellectual approach, in which the solunar aspect DOES play a part; and 2. an approach where you put your mind and body in tune with your natural surroundings, which is the approach I take. So, the simple answer is: Yes, solunar phases play a part in fishing success -- particularly in stable conditions -- but there are other aspects that usually play a larger role.

Rick Clunn: (1:32 PM ET ) And another thought. The problem I had with that approach is that it limits your enthusiasm for fishing to that specific time. And there are other ways to influence a bass to strike other than when he wants feed.

3 days before a full moon and 3 days after are always a good window to shoot for.  We concentrate on night trips during the moon.
