Unforunatley, Saturdays are the only day I can fish.  So I cherish the thought of getting up early and relishing the early morning and my peaceful time before I leave in the morning.  Here's my routine.

Get up at 4:00.  (I set the Coffemaker the night before so it is read ywhen I get up...got to have my Coffee!)  Pour it in my Fishing mug, go out to my garage, turn on my "mood light", turn on a little light jazz in the background, smoke my morning  cigarettes...yeah, i'll quit someday but not today:)

Sit and plan out my fishing strategy, maybe check Bassresource quickly for any tips I might have missed Friday night with my wireless laptop I take to the  garage with me.

Make my two sandwiches, load my cooler with water and a few soft drinks.  Take a walk around the house outside to listen to the wild peacocks or birds right before sunup.  I try to take in as much of the peacefulness and serenity of the early morning as possible.  Hit the water by 6:30. and let er rip.

What's your routine?

i try to go fishin everyday. all i do is the night before i get all my lures ready in my tacklebox then i wake up, eat and head out to the body of water.  if i fish at night, i get off work, grab my tackle bag and everything and go.  i always bring food and drinks with me just incase. dont want to fish on a empty stomach  ;)

I am up anywhere from 3-5.  Depends on where I have to drive.  I load the truck and the boat up the night before so I won't have to in the morning.  Sit on the throne and read a bassmaster magazine to get me in the mood and get out anything that might want to come out while on the water.  Pack a water jug and recheck to make sure I have everything packed.  Pick up my buddy.  Hit a McD's for breakfast.  On the water no later than 5:30 this time of year.  I wish I could do it everyday.

I usually get to fish about 2 times a week. when i turn 16 in 2 moths that will change because then i can drive. i only get to hit a lake about once a month. so im mostly stuck to pond fishin in my jon boat.

I'm mostly a Saturday morning guy too.  Friday night I'll check the weather report and make sure I won't be getting my self into any thunderstorms.  Saturday morning I'm up at 4am and will make coffee then pack up my Mountain Dew chasers.  I'll head down to the lake and be on the water by 5am at the latest to try for some topwater action until the sun hits the top of the trees.  Then I'll usually switch to Senkos and spinnerbaits.  Still haven't gotten my fill of that topwater action ;-)

Head home about 1pm or 2 depending on the action for a bite to eat and decide if it's a good day to bring the kids out for some bluegill fishing in the late afternoon.  God I love summer weekends!

Unfortunetly for me, I'm having to work a lot of overtime this summer. I work 2nd shift 10 hrs mon-thurs. and 5 on Friday, then I have to be in at 5am

on Saturday morning and work till noon.

But I'm on the water by 3:30 on Saturday evening. Then I'm usually on the water by first light on Sunday.

Well, like you, the weekends are about the only time I get to fish.  Every now and then I'll take off on Friday just to give myself three days to fish!

It's funny, I'm almost late to work every day, but I'm NEVER late to the lake  ;D

A typical weekend for me:

Friday night: prep the boat, set out my gear, prep my cooler, and pre-rig a couple of lures

Saturday morning: up at 5:00, get dressed, toss back a quick snack and some oj, out the door by 5:20, and at the lake by 5:30.

I repeat the routine for Sunday morning as well, rain or shine.

If i'm fishing a club tourney i'll get everything ready friday night and head out around 2 am on saturday to drive to the site of the tourney(usually 3 houres or less) and will prefish it saturday till about 2pm and then find a room, tie on some new lures, respool a couple reels and give the boat a good wipedown. In the evening our bass club always has a cookout in the parking lot of the motel so I'll go get some food and listen to guys lie about what they were using all day ;D. If i'm fishin the FLW (non-boater in that one!) my saturday morning routine so far has been driving back home ;Dmade no cuts this year

And some days I don't even get that far, I'll text message my boss and say "please put me in a better vehicle today, preferably one with a jet engine and a hull" and he sometimes replies with "catch 'em up".......another successful sick day!

Got that right!  It is about the total experience.  I live for saturday mornings.  God bless my wife.  She know I "need" to go fishing and has never complained, in fact, she is always pushig me to do more or stay later....Should I be worried? :)
