ArcticCat500 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I just cam back from my local WallyWorld to grab some stuff and I always wonder thru the fishing isle, I found the Storm Wild Eyes, are they worth it? The come in like packs of 6 or somthing. thnx Quote
jman Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 they work very well for me but its all about when you throw them Quote
quanjig Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 better options....yes. effective.......... he!! yes. it has it's place and time. think schooling fish and count it down where you think the fish are. good luck Quote
jman Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 i wonder what it is? when the weeds start to drop, i cast them on the far side of them and rip them through, most of the time to get a strike Quote
JShrock07 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I have used many of storms lures and I agree with the others. This type of bait does have it's time and place but when the bite is one then they are a great lure!!! I have a few but not a lot of them, I like to finesse minnows the best, they are almost like the banjo minnows but they work alot better and I have made plenty of money in tournaments with the finesse minnow. Super User T-rig Posted January 8, 2009 Super User Posted January 8, 2009 I found the Storm Wild Eyes, are they worth it? No. Quote
Mac1 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 They are great for pike. Not so great for bass. Quote
christopherjake Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 They are excellent baits for striper fishing, although I have caught a couple of bass on them. Cheap lures, work pretty well. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Storm wild eye's is a very good swimbait for the price. I have seen days where they are all the fish want and days where the fish will eat anything but these. I do like the storm minnow better then the eyes, but I have bolth, the main problem with the wild eyes is that the package will bend the tails making them bad. I only fish a wild eyes swimbait if the tail is perfect Quote
BARON49_Northern NY Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I have been playing with these Storm lures for quite a while and have to say I have not been impressed with the results. I thought they might work well in deep water and have yet to catch many fish with them. I see guys on TV using them and can't seem to find the right time or conditions for these to produce for me. Super User J Francho Posted January 9, 2009 Super User Posted January 9, 2009 I've only ever used them for Northerns here. Never caught a bass on one, though. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted January 9, 2009 Super User Posted January 9, 2009 They worked for Snapper Blues off the peir in Sheepshead Bay , I only tried it once last year, I am going to give it a shot this summer! Quote
The Next KVD Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 The best "Cheap" Swimbait out there in my mind!! Totally worth it. Caught mutiple 5+lbs on them. My best personal one day 5 fish weighed 23lbs, all caught on the Wild Eye's! However just like any other swimbait, there are times and places for it and I have a hard time puttin them down and i've had alot of days with 0's. Quote
gravyfor3 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 i got some of these to fish in canada, they pretty much sink straight down to the bottom with minimal wobble... the weight in them is way too heavy imo Quote
J. M. Richardson Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Used some of the smaller (2.5 - 3 inch) versions in bluegill color to catch some smaller bass on a lake in Southeast Wisconsin, Only had success in the spring though Quote
