fishingaddict Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 i'm thinking of subscribing to either in fisherman or bassmaster or something else any suggestions or magazines you really like tell me please thanks LT Quote
BASSMAN1301599783 Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I like both, In Fisherman covers alot of different species, so i guess it depends on what you fish for. If its strictly bass id go with bassmaster but if you like bass, pike, muskie, trout, panfish and catfish then go with in fisherman. Or just pick up an issue of both and see what you like more. Quote
fishingaddict Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 yeah i think i might go w/ bassmaster cuz i mainly fish for bass Quote
JDW Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 'Bassin' definitely has a lot more information. I really enjoy reading the tournament techniques section in 'Bassmaster' though. And also "A Day on the Lake with ..." Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 23, 2005 Super User Posted June 23, 2005 Gary Yamamoto's "INSIDE LINE" Quote
jcrazy Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 cool, how many magazines do you get with a year subscription. am i missing where they say it on the site or did they not say it? Quote
Muddpuppy Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 I wouldn't get to excited I think they will only give you one issue. :-/ I thought they offered trial subsciption (probably 1 issue) on there but didn't really read it or pay that much attention too at the time. I saw there was a tear out sheet in the mag that I looking through when I read your post that has a check box for a Trial or one for A year subscription. If want to look through the online Yamamoto Inside Line they show some of the past articles on there. http://www.insideline.net/index.html Quote
Boo Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 Bassmaster and In-Fisherman are great and I enjoy reading both, I would get a subscription to both if you can afford it. Quote
digdug Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 It's hard to say which one might be better. If you want information about several types of fish, then In Fishermen. If you want to concentrate on bass, then Bassmaster or Bassin'. But.... It seem like most of the magazines these days are just one big adverstisement. Even the most of the articles are adverstisements. The most of the pro's will only tell you what they want you to know.... Quote
Muddpuppy Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 I heard that! Or sell you the book, video or kit. We have already bought their rods, lines, lures and mag. Oh well at least we still have taxes. ;D Quote
SBM-RL Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 If I were had to pick just one of the to I would go with Bassmaster but In Fisherman is a great magizine they had a special bass edition that i really enjoyed but ill read anything that has a bass on the cover except i wouldnt buy this one mag i saw at Dicks it was like $10 forget that it wasnt even colored Quote
mtangtong Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Who needs a magazine when you have a website like this that has great information and has great forums so you can get any answers that you need? Sounds like a waste of money to me. Quote
Chris Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I'll give you one thats not listed thats good. Bill Dance's Fishing Illustrated Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 The In Fisherman was really great at one time I let my subscripton run out then after a few years I took one again Then I started getting Videos I didnt want and had to go to the post office to return I was put on other peoples lists and got all kinds of crap and offers I dint want So I cancelled If you want the truth its a merchandising scam disguised as a magazine Was better when AL Linder still owned it Quote
Pa Angler Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I get In Fisherman and Bassmaster both are excellent magazines. I'm a multi species Angler to start with so In Fisherman is the way to go but I do target Bass as well so Bassmaster gives you a more detailed approach to the Bass world. If I were you I would get both of them you won't go wrong unless you target Bass only then get Bassmaster. Both have websites to access as well. Chow The Pa Angler Quote
Muddpuppy Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 This is alittle off subject ... wasn't there a magazine that when you subscribed you be came a member of Bass Pro Shop or they put out years ago. It was when they were just getting started. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I'm with mtang. It annoys me to pay good money for a mag full of ads. The one article mixed in between all the ads usually isn't enough to get my money. Now that there are sites like this,......who needs 'em! Quote
Pa Angler Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I was told that my remaining suscription to Bill Dance's was combined with Bassin and Bill Dance's stop coming sometime ago. Is anyone still getting Bill Dance's Fishing Illustrated. Chow The Pa Angler Quote
crank it Posted July 10, 2005 Posted July 10, 2005 my choice is bassin much better then bassmasters i think it is more geared toward the average angler not the bass pros they have alot of helpful tips. Quote
