I like both, In Fisherman covers alot of different species, so i guess it depends on what you fish for. If its strictly bass id go with bassmaster but if you like bass, pike, muskie, trout, panfish and catfish then go with in fisherman. Or just pick up an issue of both and see what you like more.

'Bassin' definitely has a lot more information.  I really enjoy reading the tournament techniques section in 'Bassmaster' though.  And also "A Day on the Lake with ..."

I wouldn't get to excited I think they will only give you one issue. :-/ I thought they offered trial subsciption (probably 1 issue) on there but didn't really read it or pay that much attention too at the time. I saw there was a tear out sheet in the mag that I looking through when I read your post that has a check box for a Trial or one for A year subscription. If want to look through the online Yamamoto Inside Line they show some of the past articles on there.

Bassmaster and In-Fisherman are great and I enjoy reading both, I would get a subscription to both if you can afford it. :)

It's hard to say which one might be better.  If you want information about several types of fish, then In Fishermen.  If you want to concentrate on bass, then Bassmaster or Bassin'.  But....

It seem like most of the magazines these days are just one big adverstisement.  Even the most of the articles are adverstisements.  The most of the pro's will only tell you what they want you to know....

I heard that!

Or sell you the book, video or kit.  We have already bought their rods, lines, lures and mag.  Oh well at least we still have taxes. ;D

Who needs a magazine when you have a website like this that has great information and has great forums so you can get any answers that you need? Sounds like a waste of money to me.

The In Fisherman was really great at one time I let my subscripton run out then after a few years I took one again Then I started getting Videos I didnt want and had to go to the post office to return I was put on other peoples lists and got all kinds of crap and offers I dint want So I cancelled If you want the truth its a merchandising scam disguised as a magazine Was better when AL Linder still owned it

I get In Fisherman and Bassmaster both are excellent magazines. I'm a multi species Angler to start with so In Fisherman is the way to go but I do target Bass as well so Bassmaster gives you a more detailed approach to the Bass world. If I were you I would get both of them you won't go wrong unless you target Bass only then get Bassmaster. Both have websites to access as well.

This is alittle off subject ... wasn't there a magazine that when you subscribed you be came a member of Bass Pro Shop or they put out years ago.  It was when they were just getting started.

I'm with mtang.  It annoys me to pay good money for a mag full of ads.  The one article mixed in between all the ads usually isn't enough to get my money.

Now that there are sites like this,......who needs 'em!

I was told that my remaining suscription to Bill Dance's was combined with Bassin and Bill Dance's stop coming sometime ago. Is anyone still getting Bill Dance's Fishing Illustrated.
