Guest the_muddy_man Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Hey fellas thanks for the welcome back. I wanted all to know why i love bassfishin so much. 14 years ago i was homeless and hopelessly addicted to drugs. Some guys from a 12 step program scooped me up when I started to go to their meetings. They suggested I make 90 meetings in 90 days. A group of them used to goi fishing off the Brooklyn peirs for snapper blue fish They got me a rod and all day kept me in bait and fish and around the help I needed. I told them when I was a Kid we used to go to Greenwood lake in the summer and I had once caught a Bass on a Rapala and I someday wated to do that again. Well I made my 90 days clean and they bought me a mitchell 300 with a Bowning rod and 2 rapalas They picked me up in the AM and off to greenwood lake we went for the weekend, wecaught fish admade a few meetings and I never forgot their love and kindness. Now here I am 13 years clean with a job and it all started with a few clean fisherman and this is why I fish every year i find a newly clean guy and geive him a rodand reel and hope this works for him too We have a saying that you cant keep what you have unless you give it away You guys give your info soo freely and I am grateful for that Now go and find some kid each year that needs some direction and put a rod in his hand One kid a year think what a differenc we coulkd make Quote
