Super User Muddy Posted January 9, 2009 Super User Posted January 9, 2009 Hey Fellas: I ran out of Fat Albets this year. I had the old ones without the curly tails they have now. The tail on the older ones resembled the tail on a Manns Jelly Worm. Any fat grubs with such tails on the market anymore? Quote
zbass Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Weren't they called a stingray grub or something like that? Quote
Super User Muddy Posted January 9, 2009 Author Super User Posted January 9, 2009 No, FAT ALBET by ZOOM, they have a twist tail now, the older ones had a different tail. Quote
Super User CWB Posted January 9, 2009 Super User Posted January 9, 2009 Not sure about what you're looking for but the Stingray Grug had a single tail shaped like what you describe and was made by Manns. Probably no help. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 9, 2009 Super User Posted January 9, 2009 This is the only grub I fish and the one you need to be using: http://***/cgi-bin/order/18-20 ;D Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 9, 2009 Super User Posted January 9, 2009 Mann's Sting Ray grubs are still available and seem to be the only single flat tail grub. The "beaver" style grubs may be another option of you remove the side appendages. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted January 9, 2009 Author Super User Posted January 9, 2009 Tin sent me a PM also. The only explation I can come up with I bought 2 bags of 50 of these a few years back, from a garage sale in Tuxedo NY. They were in Zoom bags in my tackle bag, either the guy used zoom bags ( most probable) with grubs he had, or I switched bags and do not remember. Either way I am going with you fellas, they were not Fat Alberts to begin with! I want to find a fat grub with a flat tail. Quote
BARON49_Northern NY Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Wow, Thought I was one of the only ones left using the Mann's Sting Ray grub. Smallmouths around here tear'em up. I bought 100 lot bags of them a while back and not sure if Manns still makes them or not. Please post what you find out. Quote
