Btech Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Just tryed this product lasweekend thought id share it with yall Its called Reel Magic and comes in a 8oz bottle @ BPS for 899. It takes those tingles and swirls out your line pretty good - was told its also a great cleaner and lubricator for boats and such
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 7, 2009 Super User Posted January 7, 2009 Most of the guys around here are fans of KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. Reel Magic is nothing more than a silicone spray that washes off quickly. KVD is water based and forms a molecular bond with the line. This is a much better product and environmentally friendly. 8-)

Super User J Francho Posted January 7, 2009 Super User Posted January 7, 2009 In freezing temps, Real Magic is better at keeping water off your line. Otherwise, KVD is THE STUFF.
Super User Jig Man Posted January 7, 2009 Super User Posted January 7, 2009 Just be sure that you know it is REAL not REEL magic. Some people have used it for reel oil and that is a no no. I keep several cans of it around all the time to slick up stuff. It make old mono cast better and makes braid quieter.
Super User grimlin Posted January 7, 2009 Super User Posted January 7, 2009 Been using it for two years now.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 7, 2009 Super User Posted January 7, 2009 Can the KVD stuff be used like the Reel Magic to clean reels, rods, guns, etc? Does the KVD dry with no scent or residue?
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 8, 2009 Super User Posted January 8, 2009 Can the KVD stuff be used like the Reel Magic to clean reels, rods, guns, etc? Does the KVD dry with no scent or residue? Yes, Yes, and Yes. I use it to condition my guides and clean my rods. It's also great for use as a cleaner for the screen of your fish finder. It takes the finger prints right off.
Garnet Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Do not use automotive silicone spray that stuff is oil base. Reel Magic is used in produce industry and not available to the public. Drys quick and smooth seals water out. Keeps your mono sealed and floating for top waters and Steelheading. Haven't tried KVD stuff yet. Garnet

Then I would suggest reading more and posting less. Do a search for 'Real Magic' in the Rod, Reel & Line forum. Plenty of posts regarding Real or Reel Magic. Sorry to rain on your parade... :-X
Btech Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 Your probably right if i had time to read it all I would - On the other hand i guess you havnt read enought about Reel Magic since you decided to read ... And Post on this thread Back on Subject I noticed the Reel magic leaves a stain in the water (Temp) does this hurt anything? Does KVD Do the same (Did my research and none of the previous topics asked or answered this one)

Does KVD Do the same (Did my research and none of the previous topics asked or answered this one) No, the KVD is strictly water based. It's just like spraying water in the water. Pretty good stuff, one of the few things that actually lives up to the hype.

tyrius. Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I noticed the Reel magic leaves a stain in the water (Temp) does this hurt anything? Does KVD Do the same The "stain" is the petroleum base. It's not good. KVD's does not leave the same stain. If I were you, I'd take the Real Magic back and get some KVD. It's far superior.
Btech Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 Doesnt matter to me just seen people posting on it so figured id continue. Thanks RW that helps out Goahead and close it out since its not serving the purpose i intended.
Super User Muddy Posted January 8, 2009 Super User Posted January 8, 2009 I use Reel Magic on MY REELS not my line. It really helps between lubes and because it is oil based helps protect THE REEL from the elements. I have never used anything on my lines so I have no experience and really no problems with my line.
