abelfisher Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 Would be to have a big get together of all participants of this forum. It would be cool to get to meet everyone in person. ....and hear all the fish stories!! ;D ;D ;D We could all go to Glenns house! ;D ;D Quote
abelfisher Posted May 21, 2005 Author Posted May 21, 2005 And NO, I am not volunteering to organize...I just thought it would be cool! ;D ;D Quote
Will Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 Well since Kansas is basically in the middle of the United States it could be in Kansas. Quote
fishnranger6494 Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 yeah we could get together and have a fishing tournament Quote
Fatdaddy150 Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 That would be one huge fishing tournament. With over 1600 members. Thats 800 boats on the water if we paired up. With an entry fee of $50.00 a person the total payout would be over $80,000.00 my guess is winner would take home over $40,000.00 Could you imagine fishing a tournament with 1600 entries. Talk about some pressured fish!!! Quote
Chris Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 Just split it up and have divisions then take the top 50 to have a winner takes all. Quote
Phishn_Phool Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 Wait till everybody is looking for warm weather and come down here. but you can't all stay at my house LOL Quote
BD Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I would go to Kansas for a meet. I can fish, but I want to be paired with a boat owner. lol Quote
Nick_Barr Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Have it in Washington! then the entries might not even top 50 people! LOL Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 "The Bassresource Master Classic" we could call it. Quote
Guest hydrillagorilla Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 This is really a great idea! Has HUGE potential given the membership at Bassresource.com! Cedar Bluff - KS - is my vote (close to home) but anywhere there is big bass is ok by me. Quote
BD Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I got a lake here that gets alot of pressure, but it sure holds some hawgs, and would be a great learning expierence for pressured lakes, and how to fish them. I think we could get about 15 boats on it. Quote
Fatdaddy150 Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 I think we should let Glenn work out all the details. I would be more than happy to attend and meet everyone from the site. Sure would be cool. So what do you say Glenn?? Please organize the first BassResource Master Classic. It would be the biggest bass fishing tournament ever!!! Quote
fishinfool Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 i say we go to tennessee. i've been wanting to fish those lakes up there. Quote
Phishn_Phool Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 After I thought about this a little, I definately DO NOT want you to come here. I would get beat on the lake I live on an the would be embarassingLOL CPR ;D Quote
Big_Bass_Rich Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 That's quite a haul for a little Canuck boy like me LOL but if it were sometime during the summer I could make it. Someone should really get this organized it could be really cool! Quote
Landis76 Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 A MO lake would be better. KS lakes are boring IMO. Beaver, Table Rock, Tanney Como, etc. I'd do it. Good idea Abel! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 25, 2005 Super User Posted May 25, 2005 Tannycomo is a cold, trout lake between Table Rock and Bull Shoals, it won't work. Beaver, Table Rock and Bull Shoals are all good choices. Tennessee lakes? Well, there are a lot to choose from. Guntersville in Alabama would be another interesting destination. I don't fish tournaments, but I'll be there for this one! Com'on Glenn... Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 26, 2005 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 26, 2005 What an interesting idea. Tournament or not, a get-together of sorts would be fun. I'm flattered you think I can run an event like this. A web site is one thing, running a large-scale tournament is entirely different. That said, I'm not against it, and I do have experience organizing events. However, I would need somebody with deep experience running large-scale tournaments to pull something like this off. I'm willing to play an integral role, of course. Any volunteers? I presume something like this simply doesn't happen over night, so we're probably looking at 2006 to get everything squared away. However, a more casual get-together may be more feasible in the near future. Who knows? After a couple of annual events, it could end up being the "Sturgis" of bass fishing! ;D Quote
Hot n Tot Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 I'd attend a tournament or get together. I say we all go visit Raul. Quote
lookin4lunkers Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 I'm up for it, this sounds like a great plan. Sturgis of bass fishing that sounds great. Even a small % could go back into this site or into the next years needs for the 2nd annual bass resourse master classic. Quote
Landis76 Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 OK Glenn, here is what you need to do. If everyone is really serious about this, you need to get an idea of how many people would actually attend. So I propose you put a poll up on the main page like you usually do and have people vote on a lake or region. OR you could just make this a tour in which one person is the tourny director of a certain region and the people in that region fish that tournament. So you can have a regional winners and the overall winner. These tournaments would be paper tournaments that measure lengths and the overall winner would be determined by points. Just some ideas... 8) Quote
Redtail Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 If you could get enough people to hold a tournament in different parts of the country, you could certainly do it that way. Instead of having one tournament, you could have say 50 all over the country and we could attend the one we lived closest to. Then if you wanted to take it to another level, those 50 winners could meet somewhere to find out the true champion of "Glenn's Excellent Fishing Adventure." Quote
