fishingrulz Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I was just wondering what do you guys prefer? fishing with a buddy, loved one or by yourself? I no if i have had a bad day i like to go with my brother its a good way to get away from it all thats one of the best aspects of fishing as far as i'm concerned. Quote
Rebbasser Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I prefer to go with a buddy, but I'll go alone if I can't round abybody up to go with me. Quote
squid Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I would like to go with a buddy, but I have to have Tritonman tag along with me....lol Makes it more interesting and fun too. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted May 13, 2005 Super User Posted May 13, 2005 I prefer to go with somebody, but it's not going to stop me from going if I can't find somebody. There are times though when I really prefer to be by myself. Plus you can leave when you want to leave and fish where you want to fish. Quote
Hookhead Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 I used to have a bass fishin' buddy but he lost interest. Now I go alone. I still have great time. Quote
TIEDROPE Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 More fun with a buddy, but dont have problem goin by myself ;D Quote
Muddpuppy Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 It is easier on me if I go with a buddy. I mostly go by myself or have in the past few years. Oh I forgot my Cocker Spaniel, he goes until it gets too hot, he's not much help though. Quote
MrJS Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 If im in a patient mood I will go with my girlfriend. Most other times are with friends but I like to go alone also. Quote

Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted May 14, 2005 Super User Posted May 14, 2005 My dog gets pretty ticked when he sees the trailer in the drive way and he doesn't get to go. When he does get to go though, he is good for about half the trip and then he starts getting pretty antsy because I always throw a stick for him for about an hour before we go...................I swear he would swim himself to death. Here's kind of a funny story about him: A few weeks ao I was bed fishing and my dog was with me. I spotted around a 4-5 lber. that was very catchable, but stubborn. I was working on him for about 45 min. and I could tell he was just about to take a swipe at it. Just then I hear a spash and see my dog swiming towards the bank right over the bed. Needless to say the bass was gone and I was pretty ticked, but then I saw what my dog was doing I couldn't help to smile. He had spotted a frog on the bank and he was chasing. Boy did I have a good laugh. He never caught it, but it was sure fun watching him try. Quote
abelfisher Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 KU that is funny! Dogs are great.! ;D I like to go bass fishing with my son or daughter, or by myself. Fankly, sometimes, I prefer to fish by myself. Do what I want ,when and where i want and not be concerned about others. But, nothing better than to watch my kids catch fish. I would rather they catch them than me; when i am out with them. Quote
Muddpuppy Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Mud ducks are my dogs achilie's heel. He gets watching them and will walk clear off the side of the boat. He has had a couple of pretty chilly trips back to the landing. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I usually prefer to go alone, but in about 4 hours I will be going with my wife's uncle. JT Bagwell Quote
bosnmate3 Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I like going solo, very relaxing to me. Going where I want, taking my time, leaving when I want. Thinking of ways to do my ex. without getting caught. lol ( just kidding ) I started fishing during my divorce, so it gave me time to NOT think about things. And that is what helped me from going crazy. ( see above statment ) Fishing with a bud is cool too, but I like just walking the shore alone thinking about nothing but how I'm going to get that G.D. bass on my lure ;D Quote
Super User Marty Posted May 14, 2005 Super User Posted May 14, 2005 I don't own a boat, so I'm obviously with someone when I'm boat fishing. But I do a lot of shore fishing and I prefer to do that solo for a variety of reasons. Quote
Hot n Tot Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I enjoy fishing crappie fishing with my dad. That's about the only type of fishing that he does. When I go bass fishing I will sometimes fish with a buddy or relative, but I usually prefer to fish alone. I can fish how I want to, where I want to, and leave then I want to. My job can be pretty stressful at times, and fishing it my escape from it all. It's my alone time. Quote
bassackwards Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I attempt to take people fishing with me, the company is enjoyable. ironically, I don't talk much to 'em and since I fish on the bank, I don't fish near them either. my thoughts are, I hope to take someone so that they can enjoy fishing as much as I do. however, sometimes I try to give them tips, like "fish slow in cold water" and they are burnin a crankbait. I'm like, ARRRRGH! YOU WON"T CATCH FISH THAT WAY! lol and they wonder why the fish aren't bitin, and come up with ideas like "lets go to the store 10 miles away, they'll bite on spoons. they aren't bitin crankbaits"... lmao, I enjoy taking my dad though. He doesn't have the drive to set a date/time to go (with work and all), but he enjoys fishing. so I try to push him to go with me. Quote
Guest DavidGreen Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I have a long time fishing buddy. We have been fishing together for 30+ years and I wouldn't have it any other way. My wife ;D <----- She is great at taking my pictures Quote
Phishn_Phool Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Up north it was always with a friend, but since I have moved down here I have fished alone. I live on a lake so I go for a few hours at a time. When I need someone to talk to or tell a story to I come home and the wife listens real good. Best of all she believes all my stories. LOL Quote

tie1on Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I like to go with my dad and my brother. When we go on a fishing trip they loosen up and tell me things that I would never know if I had just went to go visit them.I think everytime we go I learn more about them in one day than what I would have in six months.I never talk about things going on in my life and my wife hates that about me.I also like to go solo.
