Landis76 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Ok this post is sort of related to my Fishing Factors post. Who knows a lot about barometric pressure? I have never really considered it. How does it affect bass? What are the ranges? Is there a production curve associated? School me guys!!! ;D Quote
Muddpuppy Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 This should give you something until you get some more recent posts. It is an old thread from pg.8 http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=gen_bass;action=display;num=1112306236 Quote
BD Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I can't remember all the details, but B.P. imho, does affect bass. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I can't give you scientific data, but I've observed that a falling barometer(Usually before a storm) turns the fish on .A rising barometer does just the opposite. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 6, 2005 Super User Posted May 6, 2005 I'm a river rat mostly and the barometric pressure has no impact on river fish. It's all about current. Oddly enough, I have had some of my very best days when the bp has risen dramatically. On the other hand, I was fishing Beaver Lake for striper in the winter and catching some when the weather broke and the bp began to rise. We were all over giant balls of bait with giant arcs all around. The electronics allowed us to watch our bait approach some of these big fish...and turn them away. We didn't have any dynamite, so we called it a day. Quote
