hey,i live in battle creek michigan and i was wondering if around this time is a fairly good time to catch different kinds of fish from shore, also i was wondering if theyre a lot harder to catch casue mostly i use nightcrawlers and other random things. I was also wondering if there is a difference in the taste of the fish around spring cause ive heard some different things about it. I also have heard that the North side of the lake is the best in the spring, is this true or not?

I would appreciate the advice thanks. ;D

its probably the best time of the year to catch salmon and trout from shore because the cool water. The fish are better to eat this time of year also because of the cool water makes it less chance for worms in the meat of the fish.

about the salmon thing, what is a good bait because i dont really wanna go out and buy those egg things would nightcrawlers work and would i have to rig it in some sort of way or just          Sinker->some leader->hook with bait->rest of line

or would a bobber work too perhaps? I am planning on going fishing tomorrow if its not raining and the location is in FOrt Custer Rec Area, either Eagle lake Jackson Hole Whitford lake or the Kalamazoo river. If anyone knows about these places please help me out. And theres a cold front comming up on us soon too is it good to fish before or after? does fishing die down for a while after it, thats what i hear at least... ???  :-/
