Not to do it...lol.  I haven't had good luck with it.  Everything always gets tangled, snagged, spilled, lost, etc.  The only time I enjoy it is in the summer, at the Lake of the Ozarks, sitting onmy buddy's dock, throwing back a few cold ones, and hanging out with my old high school buddies.

In the middle of summer when it's 85 out and you could not buy a bite in the day. I like to use topwater's. I have had a lot of luck using Strike King 3x craws, fished weightless. They float right on top and drive the bass nuts.

at night in the heat of summer, i like to buzzbait or jitterbug down the edge of banks filled with grass. fish the inside edge cause the bass are up shallow feeding.   they cant stand it.  got to run    catbird48

first thing is to get a good headlamp.also bring spare flashlights, batteries and bulbs for your lights.stay organized and don't get sloppy.my favorite night bait is a black clacker buzzbait.next would be a black single colorado blade spinnerbait.rattlin jigs can also be good at night.

I love nightfishin for some reason i think it makes things all the more exciting...I have had a lot of hits on spinner baits but i caught the biggest bass of my life (10 lb) on a live frog that i grabbed and just threw it out on a golf course at night..i dont know how u guys feel about live bait but all i know is some green tree frogs have gotten me a lot of nice sized bass

I dont fish much at night anymore but I used to fish a lot at night. I would usually only throw a worm. There are so many weeds in the lake I fish that it is hard to see a lure good enough to get it clean.

I agree with GamblerFL, on Guntersville Lake, if its warm enought to be night fishing, you better be in the channels of the creeks.

The grass is so thick, it makes it hard to throw a buzzbait at night.

Although, when i go at night, i usually use a black buzzbait or a black spinnerbait.  Or, the trusty 10 in. powerworm.  :D

I like to use a spinnerbait, buzzbait, crankbait, 10inch worms, topwater stickbaits, jitterbugs, paddletail worms work great too. I have even fished some night tournaments pitching a jig. ;D

Night fishing is quite popular around here especially in the summer mo.  Gets you away from the pleasure craft and jet ski's.  There are quite a few tounements fished at night here in the summer.  I like black/blue flake worms, and black buzz baits.  Don't forget the mosquito repellant.

1/2 or 3/4 oz Midnight Special Spinnerbait or a 7 or 10 inch powerworm blue fleck. Sometimes I throw a Venom Salty Sling or Reebs Sluggo in greenpumpkin weightless..

Basst of luck,

I like to use a Black rattle l trap or a smithwick. At night black gives the bait a bigger profile. I also like to find the loudest topwater that I can find.
