Btech Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 (Sorry if in wrong section) Was wondering if anyone has made a worm bed before (I know live bait aint all that good for bass). Few buddys and I were thinking of how to make a few extra bucks for tackle and a worm bed poped in our head to go with the weights and jigs we are makin Anyone know what kind of soil would work the best and is in expensive . We plan to use just eggshells and coffee grounds etc mixed in the soil Also - Anyone know where to buy worms in bulk from the net? Was told you can buy 1000 worms for under 20bucks. just thought this might me fun and good for brim n other fishies. Quote
Other. Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 wormman.com has some good articles on breeding worms, making worm bedding and everything else. Just don't buy from him. Your order will never make it to your door. Everyone I know that order from him had nothing but bad experiences. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 30, 2008 Super User Posted December 30, 2008 A search yielded this. Seemed simple, straightforward, and wasn't trying to sell anything. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/455773/the_care_and_feeding_of_nightcrawlers.html?cat=11 Quote

Super User CWB Posted January 3, 2009 Super User Posted January 3, 2009 I used a styrofoam cooler that you get when you mail order steaks. It's about 3 feet square X 1.5 feet high. I filled it with magic worm bedding and waited for the first good spring rain. I picked about 200 fat juicy crawlers and put them in and thought I was in heaven until I went downstairs the next day and found the buggers all over. I didn't put a weight on the lid and they crawled out. Wife said either they go or she goes. I'll miss her. ;D Quote
