hawghunter Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I'm in Iowa and the ice just went off in the southern part of the state, so I had to get out...... and it paid off big! 20 incher (My first catch of the year!) This 19 incher was my 3rd bass of the year! HH Quote
Big_Bass_Rich Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Wow what a couple of pigs!! Awesome fish Hawghunter, congrats! Quote
Iceman Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Well done. I am from South Africa and new to bassin. I haven't caught one yet, but I will let you know as soon as I do!! Quote
Redtail Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Wow. How much did he weigh? Looks like you got him on a jig. Quote
Detroit3Pistons Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Those are some nice looking fish. Congratulations. Quote
hawghunter Posted March 7, 2005 Author Posted March 7, 2005 Hey redtail- Those are actually two different fish caught on two different days One fish on the jig and the other on a spinnerbait. I did not have my scales but, judging on the lentgth and girth I'd say they are getting real close to 5lbs. HH Quote
Fish4ever Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 HawgHunter, Nice fish! I saw them on FM also ;D You keep posting pictues like the ones above and you will have all kinds of guys from MN coming down to fish your waters. Bass season doesn't open for another 80 days up here and there is still 3' of ice on the lakes. :'( Fish4ever Quote
Super User 5bass Posted March 7, 2005 Super User Posted March 7, 2005 What was the water temp and depth you were fishing? Quote
hawghunter Posted March 7, 2005 Author Posted March 7, 2005 Water temp was 41 degrees. We were fishing the face of the dam on a small little lake (35acres) The wind was pounding the rocks (35mph gusts) Caught them in 4 to 5 fow. HH' Quote
GamblerFL Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Nice looking fish. I dont mean just the size but they have very nice color. They look really healthy. Quote
hawghunter Posted March 8, 2005 Author Posted March 8, 2005 GamblerFL- I couldn't agree more! This little jewel of a pond produces the best colored, healthiest and stocky fish that I catch anywhere in the state! HH Quote
