I'm in Iowa and the ice just went off in the southern part of the state, so I had to get out...... and it paid off big!

Hey redtail-

Those are actually two different fish caught on two different days  :)

One fish on the jig and the other on a spinnerbait.

I did not have my scales but, judging on the lentgth and girth I'd say they are getting real close to 5lbs.

HawgHunter,

Nice fish!  I saw them on FM also  ;D  You keep posting pictues like the ones above and you will have all kinds of guys from MN coming down to fish your waters.  Bass season doesn't open for another 80 days up here and there is still 3' of ice on the lakes.  :'(

What was the water temp and depth you were fishing?

Posted

Water temp was 41 degrees.

We were fishing the face of the dam on a small little lake (35acres) The wind was pounding the rocks (35mph gusts)

Caught them in 4 to 5 fow.

GamblerFL-

I couldn't agree more! This little jewel of a pond produces the best colored, healthiest and stocky fish that I catch anywhere in the state!
