Snag Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Everybody asks me how I get away with fishing so much without the little lady getting upset. Well, I'm gonna let the cat out of the bag.... I set the alarm for 5:00 am, tap her on the shoulder and say fishing or s-x? She says take a sweater, it might be cold. lol..... Snag Quote

Shad_Master Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 It's called collecting "capital" -- you do those honey-do's so you can do what you want to do!! Quote

jignpig Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 When we first started getting serious about our relationship I told her the two things not to give me a hard time about, fishing and hockey. I retired from my hockey years (slapshot in the eye nearly blinded me) but I will fish till I die. The way I look at it is I am not going to a bar or getting in any kind of trouble so what can she complain about? She doesn't complain about it much except when I skipped her cousins wedding for a tournament! WOW, WAS SHE P****D OFF! Quote
pigpounder Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 LOL... man I got a good girl, she postponed our wedding so I could fish a trnx... came in 3rd Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 2, 2005 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 2, 2005 I guess I'm lucky. My wife fishes every tournament with me. When she insisted I buy a new Ranger, I knew I had to marry her! In fact, our honeymoon was fishing at lake Toho and the Daytona 500! ;D Quote
Nick Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Met my intended 31 years ago. Not once has she told me I couldn't go fishing. What a woman! And I go about 80-120 days a year. Quote
boatless_tom Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Glenn you're a stud. I'm not old enough to have to worry about the old ball and chain yet. Thank god for college. Quote
abelfisher Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 All of that soundsfamiliar. My wife "wants" me to go fishing. SHe knows how much of a stress release it is for me. she been pushing me to get a bigger boat, join a Fishing club so I cna fish some tournaments, etc. Been married 29 yeaqrs and she gets better every day. (I still do the little honey do jobs for her though, just to be safe! ;D ;D Quote
JT Bagwell Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 My approach is a little different and requires a fatter wallet (but the end result is a much thinner wallet). My wife and I have an agreement that works well. I fish as much as I want and she shops as much as she wants. Thank god for sponsors, otherwise I couldn't afford for her to shop. ;D JT Bagwell Quote
