Are you talking about the lightweight shirts that have a flap in the back that has mesh underneath it?

If so, I some of them and they are great in the summer. I usually wear them when I am fun fishing or prefishing for a tournament.

I wear a white polo shirt with a collar. It looks neat & you can wash it & wear it right out of the dryer.

the type you are thinking of really need to be pressed to look good.

I have both. My sponsor tourney shirt and the guide series shirt.

My tourney shirt has a vented back and is made by Pro Image Line. It has my sponsors logos as well as my name on it. The logos are very detailed and sharp.  My guide series shirt also has a vented back and is made by Pacific Fly. It also has two logos on it but they are silk screen and not near the quality of the other. Both shirts are high quality and wear well. I'm not sure of the cost for either but I guess the Pro Image Line tourney shirt is around $300 and the Pacific Fly around $75.

I'm not sure what your budget is but if you can get you sponsors to pay for it get the Pro Image Line shirt.  BASS and FLW pros wear his line and the product is top notch. Mike Gordon is the guy that designed my shirt and I'm very happy with it. If I can figure out how to post a picture I'll post it.

I'm not sponsored by Pro Image Line in anyway but the guy does top-notch work. If you wanna look like a pro he will hook you up.

My Tournament shirts look like the one in the picture.  ;D I have different variations of the same shirt style.

I also wear the Yellow and Black Yamamoto Pro Team shirts.

Well, what I ment (when I said "What are your Tourny shirts like?") was, are the shirts the same material as the regular fishing shirts?, are they as breathable? So on and So on........... LOL  ;D

What I really wanted to know was is it worth spending the extra money for a fishing shirt, meaning are they more comfortable and breathable than a t-shirt?

;D ;D ;D

Is it worth dropping $300 out of your pocket on one? NO!!!!

I believe they are like 60% polyester and 40% cotton. I don't wear mine in the summer heat all day. If it's to hot I'll wear the Pacific Fly shirt that is alot lighter and is 45% cotton during the day. On my way back to the weight in I'll put my tourney shirt on.

Expensive tournament shirts photograph well and will seperate you from the average Joe in the looks department. If your after a custum look and not the mass-produced Ranger or Triton shirts that all look them same I'd say YES it is worth the extra money to custumize your own shirt. But trust me a tee-shirt is alot more comfortable and alot cheaper.

Thats sorta what I was thinking! Thanks guys. I'm looking more for comfort rather than for looks. So I'll be ordering 1000 Metallica t-shirts!!  ;D

I actually wear the guide series shirts as tourney shirts. I have them embroiderd with my name and one sponsors name and they are very comfortable.

If i had more Sponsors id look for a guide series shirt with out the front Pockets or at least smaller ones

Well I have not seen one for $300.  I have seen and bought them from $15 -  $59(the one I am wearing)  They come in light weight to a heavy weight for colder days.  I like them, but even if I was wearing a T-shirt and it was really really hot out....I would change to a White Tank Top.

I'm not saying the shirt alone is $300 its the imbroidering that gets expensive. The shirt is probadly right about what you said at $60-$75. But add in a big logo across the back plus a logo on each applet, sleeve tip and neck and it will add up quickly. Then add in a vented back and your last name under the vent I believe then your pushing the $300 range.

I guess it just depends what you want on your shirt that will determine the price. When you got your shirt was is  $59 for the shirt plus embroidering?

It was $59 with All the Triton embroidery on it, but Tritonman and I have an embroidery store as a sponsor, so we get that done for free....lol...so I can't help ya there on embroidery cost.  She also splits the price with me to get anything Digitized if I have something she does not have.  So that cost me $32 to get it put onto a disk.

Both of my shirts were part of my deal.  This thread got me wondering how much a shirt really is. I never had anything embroidered before so I wasn't sure if the cost was based on stitch count or what. I didn't even think about set up fee and digitizing.

How did you come up with the $300 price tag?

That seems a little on the high side to me. Unless you are including full-back embroidery and several front side logos.

I use guide shirts and find them cool and comfortable. I buy the ones made by Columbia and are sold in Gander Mountain and Cabellas. I usually buy them in late August when they go on sale for $19.95. About half price.

As a member of the Forum, do we get a discount Glenn??? LOL ;D

Great Shirt indeed.

I'm no where ready for tournaments yet, I'm just looking for something that's cooler than a t-shirt but just as comfortable.

As of right now I wear light colored t-shirts or go bare backed.
