reellittlephish Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 My situation might be a little distinctive. Have 4 screws in left ankle from rockclimbing accident years ago. As result, I am in precarious balance standing on left leg and I like to drive the foot control on the Motorguide Trolling Motor with right foot. And I prefer to drive the TM with no shoes or sandals on. Much better sensitivity on the on/off switch. That's fine when weather permits, but during rain gets mighty cold. - like it did yesterday! Maybe some kind of boating or kayaking footcover which breathes so I won't get athletes foot? Suggestions? Quote
D.Taylor Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 I wear the Ultimate Fishing Shoe from Cabelas it is mde by rugged shark They are light weight, thin souled, and soft.. They breathe really well and are water resistnant ,not proof. I like them alot. I think i Read on another site that Randy Blauket wears sandles year round. and if its cold he just adds socks? It is in an archived article there. Quote
eddiefebuary Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Maybe a wetsuit bootie? Once it gets wet, the layer of water between the bootie and your foot heats up and keeps you warm. Quote
tritonman Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 A watershoe should work, they can get wet and still keep your feet warm. Quote
squid Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 every shoe I get wet becomes a watershoe...lol. I wear sandles most of the time and YES when cold with socks. I have water shoes, but it is very hard to find comfortable ones for my feet. Quote
scbassin Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 I use a hand operated Minn Kota 74# trolling motor. I have a handle extenison so I can steer it with my knee. A power button on each side of the deck to run the motor. Both my feet are flat on the deck, my hands are free to fish & I have never had a broken steering cable. My feet or back does not hurt at the end of the day which is a big plus. Quote
