Big_Bass_Rich Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Quietly. I like to use small finesse baits texas rigged and flip gently to any good cover, usually pads or wood. If you are too loud on these "backwater" areas you will spook big bass into not biting. Another great tactic is long casts with topwater scum frogs or slug-gos on braided line and a hefty rod to horse em out. Quote
D.Taylor Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 depends on the back water: depth, water color, time of year, cover. Quote
D.Taylor Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 oh did i mention a back water with or with out current, a slough, a lake, marina? Quote
Big_Bass_Rich Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Sorry, I understood "backwater" as those bog like sloughs, almost like marshes that you find very shallow. That was what my reply was referring to. Quote
D.Taylor Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Rich I wasnt refering to your post. I havent really fished the types of areas you talked about except in a river situation. The musquitos would drive me out of an area like your describing even if the fish were hitting Quote
