njvbass Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Well now that my season is slowing down, all i got left is memories. Anyway does this happen to everyone else or what. The night before a big fishing trip you just can't seem to get to sleep. Quote
earthworm77 Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I used to fish shiners in Florida, after a day of fishing, I'd see that bobber floating through my eyelids as I lay in bed at night. Quote
AUTgrPilot Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Never can sleep before any tournament or fishing trip. I probably get up 3 or 4 times in throughout the night thinking I'm going to forget something. Quote
bquittem Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 I have the same problem every tournament. My first couple tournaments i didnt sleep at all, i went to bed around 12 and woke up like 5 times, and finally got on the road by 3. I started taking some sleeping pills and that helped. When i wake up it doesnt really matter how much sleep i get, im pumped up and ready to fish. After every tournament i go home, eat, and crash. That makes up for the lack of sleep the night before. Big_Bass_Rich Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 Depends where I'm going/who my partner is. If I'm going trout fishing on the creek for instance, I can get more than my fair share of sleep. haha And if I'm going with somebody who is full of bores the whole day, I can get lots of sleep. But if I'm going to a new lake, fishing a tournament, or going with a really good friend that makes it fun whether you catch fish or not - then I have troubles sleeping! When I'm camping with my friends we usually end up staying up all night talking about fishing anyway.. then 5 in the morning comes around and the sky gets a little brighter, and we say "alright lets get fishin!" Bassin101 Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 I don't sleep well the night before I early fish and I don't fish tournaments. So, last year when my wife left town for a week, I dropped her at the airport went home for the boat, food and SLEEPING BAG. Spent the night anchored in a cove woke at 4:00 and caught 3 on a popper without starting either motor. What a great way to start the day. 1 Quote

I never slept on my boat though. Imagine if you dropped her off at the airport with the boat already hitched. Quote
L.D. Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Well I don't do tournaments, but I fish 6 days a week, I go to bed early, get up at 5:00AM. Sleep well, and go do a very enjoyable day at (work)? Always jazzed up ready to see what and how many fish we catch and the challenge of making sure my clients catch fish no matter how much experience they have. Quote
Trivib1 Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 After fishing tournaments for a few years sleep won't be a problem to you. Quote
