I was able to fish here in Illinois a few times this past week, and yesterday was my best trip by far. I went to a local pond and caught a few smaller bass, a 13 inch crappie, and a 21 inch bass. Needless to say I was stoked to be able to do this in February.  :D

Thanks Grey Wolf, and A-Jay I'm not quite sure. It thawed around February 21 so I'm guessing somewhere between 35 and 40 degrees.

Good deal...not trying to fish it...but I also live in Bloominton and after work if I don't want to bring the boat out i sometimes hit tipton (size) or northpoint (numbers) as i live about 1/4 mile from both. You fishing that area or more the white oak area?

If we ever fish your lake you are more than welcome on my boat on any area lake of your choice. :)

I've fished tipton quite a few times, and I actually live in Northpoint which is where I caught that bass. There used to be quite a few close to that size in there but there aren't that many anymore  :'(. And thanks for the invite I'd love to go fishing with you sometime.

Glad to see other Bloomington guys got out fishing!  I've been waiting for it to get warm enough over the last couple weeks, I checked a couple places last weekend and it was still pretty icy.  Nice fish and good luck
