Well today was my first day out on beautiful Lake Fork this year. My friend & I decided that we would have a friendly, bragging rights tourney from 10 - 2.

Lake Fork right now is about 4ft below pool so there are a whole bunch of new stumps to fish which is both fun & also a tad bit intimidating.

Anyways here are the 4 fish that I got to the boat today.

This first fish was in 12 feet of water & it was caught on a suspending jerkbait after a 15sec pause. 1 1/4#

Moved spots after going an hour with out a bite & pulled in this healthy fish about 2 feet from shore off a stump. Hollow body swimbait. 5#.

A look inside.

Five min later & 30 yards down shore I caught the big fish of the day. Same swimbait, same pattern as the second fish. 6 1/4#.

2 casts later I got this one to the boat. Looks so much smaller in the picture but this one weighed in at 4#. Same pattern once again.

At the end of the day I got the bragging rights. ;D

Sweet!  A bag of four fish weighing 16 - 17 lbs is pretty good where I come from.

gosh that weather looks so prime. well done!

Yeah I definitely got excited that morning when I looked outside.  It was cold & misty but it kept the other boaters off the water.  At one point the visibility went down to about 20 ft when I was running the boat across the lake.  I got turned around for a second out on the big water & didn't exactly know where I was.  Weird feeling.  Never had that happen before, especially on a lake that I know so well.

Fog can be pretty bad. Was on Bastrop(powerplant lake) and fog was so bad you could barly see past the TM, needless to say we got turned around pretty bad.

bassman, you are living right! I can only look out at our ice storm and dream of the Lunker Factory known as The Fork.
