Fat-G Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Wrong type of fish for it to have been impressive ;D Went out Monday with my boss fishing for big blues. My brother and another kid came along too, and it made out for a great day. Think we caught probably 12-15 in the end, my 18 ended up being the biggest sadly. I really wanted to put my bro on a 40+. We also kept a 6 we caught, filleting it up ten minutes later and throwing it in the frying pan. Best fish I've ever had, and a really cool thing to do. Frying up a freshly caught fish while you kick back and wait for a bite. Awesome. Here are some pics. Biggest of the day, 18 lbs. My bro with a FAT cat. Captain Mike fryin' up some catfish. God that stuff was really good. Quote
Dalton Tam Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Looks like you guys had alot of fun. Me and a buddy of mine went out to a local lake and caught 21 crappie today. We caught some SLABS too. I think I'll post some pics soon. Quote

Fat-G Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 Thanks guys, and the fish was amazing. I thought it wouldn't have been that much meat, but we had more than enough to feed two more people. It was one of those days that you won't ever forget. I mean really. Mike is an awesome guide, friend, and boss. He has a passion for the river that is unreal. Forgot to add, Mike also guides Eagle-watching trips that are amazing as well. He has names for all of them that have a significant meaning, that either people from past trips have named, or it goes along with where the nest is located. He took a shad and injected it with air, threw it out in the river, and "Bandit" swooped down and grabbed it from the water. It truly was amazing. Made the hair on my neck stand up and I got the chills. It was like something from the Discovery channel. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 20, 2011 Super User Posted January 20, 2011 WOW - great fish...and I bet a pretty good fight too! Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 They always taste better fresh, or should I say, REALLY fresh. My buddy and I bring a grill with us duck hunting and grill up some ducks that we kill while we hunt. We normally kill a limit, grill up a few, then kill a few more to bring home a limit. BassFishinMagician...that local lake wouldn't happen to be Saline huh? I heard they were already startin to catch the slabs shallow, but thats hard to believe. How deep did yall catch them perch?
