Took my Nephew to Glenn Springs today for a short trip.  He has been wanting to go fishing and this was his first trip in a boat.  Little cool and breezy on the water.....so I was worried he would get cold quick and decide it was time to go not long after we got there................After about 15 min of fishing he said he was hung.....(for the 3rd time).......but this snag had fins...........I'm just glad the water temp was 41 and the fish was sluggish so that he was able to land him by himself.

We also saw more deer than his brother and my son that went deer hunting today instead of fishing......

WOW - that is a primo fish!

I'm always surprised when deer travel across lakes to "get to the other side" ... especially in cold water - brrrrrrr !

Awsome catch. Glenn Springs in my opinion is a very underated lake. It's idle only correct I forget?

About 5 min after the deer hit the water four dogs came down to the lake right where they went in.  I'm guessing that had something to do with them getting in the water in the first place.

Lynyrdsky1.....yes it is idle only, with all the stumps I don't think I would do much more than that even if it wasn't.

That thing is huge! It's like half his size.

I've only fished with a young kid once and it was a blast. It's always nice to see them fishing.

Lynyrdsky1,

I guess I should have said standing timber.......It is fairly deep for a lake its size 35ft in places.....I just consider stumps anything that is just under the water even if it is 30 ft deep, and yes the water is very clear for a lake in this area.....up north I think they would consider it a mud hole or stained at the best.

I thought this was a great example of how deceiving a photo can be just by moving the fish away from your body.  It was still a very nice fish but I think you can see that the O My God factor is lost just a little.  :D :D

I did not move or change anything on the camera just had him straighten his arm out.
