So on Sunday I decided to hit the lake. The bite was pretty much non-existent but on one cast while the bail was still open I saw my line twitch twice so I closed it and set the hook hard. When I started reeling I thought I had lost it then it took off and when I got it to shore, to my surprise it was a decent sized rainbow trout (probably a couple pounds). I was using a 5" junebug senko. Anyone else ever done this?

Later that night I went back and was using a jitterbug. I couldn't see too well because it was pretty dark but there was a hit on my jitterbug and when I jerked it, it went weightless so I thought I missed then i reeled in and it was flopping. Turns out I snagged a bat.

Probably the weirdest day of fishing I've ever had.

They was a topic on a bat bite here not to long ago. If remember correctly he hooked it and while trying to get it free it bite him. How you manage to get it off or did you? The trout at the same lake you had pics of last time? What you do with the trout, eat em? Man I love them never had tried it till couple of years ago when my uncle cooked some. I still haven't and would love to fish for trout one day. I know we have trout ponds where they stock em here in the winter. I might fish the base by my house this year when they stock em. $5 for the day but I think the limit is 3.

Not with a Senko, but we catch trout on plastic worms all the time up here. 3" work well:

Bats on the other hand.....not really, LOL.  :D

Yep, caught the trout at the same lake.

It probably isn't the most humane thing I've ever done but I casted out a few times with the bat until it fell off. I know bats are vectors for multiple diseases and wasn't about to get bitten. With the way the hooks caught him, his chances of survival were minimal anyway.

I've never really been trout fishing. I thought most people just caught them on things like corn, salmon eggs, and powerbait. I'll have to try out some of those worms this spring.
