Super User J Francho Posted September 28, 2010 Super User Posted September 28, 2010 Get the 6" ROF 5 in Holdover. Pure demolition in clear water. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 Cool cool, I also need a Brown Trout. Preferably 6" if such a thing exists. I now I can get a Woodtail made, but looking for other options too. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 28, 2010 Super User Posted September 28, 2010 I want a bait that looks like this: Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted September 28, 2010 Super User Posted September 28, 2010 Get the 6" ROF 5 in Holdover. Pure demolition in clear water. J - Do you do mod to these baits, where the original single hook is removed and replaced with wire and a treble ? A-Jay Quote

J - Do you do mod to these baits, where the original single hook is removed and replaced with wire and a treble ? A-Jay No need to do that with the 6" You'll end up killing a bunch of fish with a trap hook on a bait that small. You guys sure your fish won't eat a brookie? Quote

J - Do you do mod to these baits, where the original single hook is removed and replaced with wire and a treble ? A-Jay I messed with a stinger treble off the bottom hook loop with braid and buried in the adipose area, but it just wrecked the action and tore the bait. I fish them straight out of the package. Wayne, that bait is hot, and close enough to the stocker browns up here. You can just send that bait to me. Quote

=Matt 5.0= Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 Okay Wayne, spill the beans... Quote
NewAngler Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Haha. Its a jsj snack snize trout. Wayne claims its been kissed by Josh St. John. or something like that. I had one in the bass pattern, its a real nice bait, at a real nice size, 7" and 2.5 oz, i think. Its targeted towards the tourney angler who want to catch big bass. Also its got pretty stiff joints (at least mine did) and says its best fished at a faster pace. I'd imagine them being killer as the fish move up to the shallows, but may limit your depth on where you can fish it. Matt, what bait were you using? nice fish! Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 New, that fish came on the Spro BBZ-1 6" Rainbow Trout. I've been wearing em out on that bait. Not bad for $20. 8-) Quote
NewAngler Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I'd imagine. I get them on the 4". I need to pick up the 6. Quote

No stiff joints on that one and if you are patient enough to let them sink you can effectively fish it at greater depths. People need to get away from the notion that deeply fished baits always = slow moving. Think about it. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted September 30, 2010 Super User Posted September 30, 2010 Oh, and you should see the two baits I just got from Mattlures yesterday. New soft baits that are just awesome looking. Video coming soon. Quote
NewAngler Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Mine had to be almost burned for it to swim.. I could get it down just wouldn't swim without a faster retrieve. Quote
