Funny thing happened to me today while i was fishing for largemouth off of a dock in southeast New Hampshire. I had an amazing day and ended up catching about 10 bass that were all over 2 lbs each using a crawler. However, around 9:30am I ended up running out of live bait and threw a tiny piece of crawler on a large hook just to get rid of the last piece before I left for the day. Well, the next thing I knew I felt a little jerk on the line. I knew it wasn't a bass but started reeling in to see what had possibly went after such a weak piece of bait. As I reeled in I noticed that I had about a 6 inch yellow perch on the line. Yet, I somehow hooked it by the tail. I was reeling slowly just to keep up the fight when all of a sudden a 6 lb largemouth comes out of no where and engulfs the perch! I set the hook and had the best fight I've had this summer. I finally pulled the massive beast out of the water and got my best fish of the summer! However, the kicker to this fish tale was when I pulled the little perch out of the Goliath's mouth, put him back in the water and watched him swim away.

This picture doesn't do the fish justice but it's my shoe and I'm a size 12.
