It has been a very tough summer for me.  I have gone out frequently only to catch 2 maybe 3 fish on an entire outing.  Very different then past years.  On my last trip a few days ago I did manage 1 nice one around 4 or so, she was my only fish in 3.5 hours of fishing.  Just wondering if anyone else down here is having a tough summer also.  I hope it gets better soon, I will be hitting the beaches soon anyway the mullet run is coming.  Good luck everyone.

Same here. I have been working too much to have any free time for fishing. When I have been able to go out, I have been catching mostly dinks. This time of year, I usually fish Alligator alley at first light or late afternoon.

I can usually catch some 1-4 lb bass in those canals.

Where have you been fishing?

Between the heat, gnats,slow fishing and small fish I probably have logged no more than 2 hours of freshwater fishing in the last month.

I have hit the beach just about everyday for the last 3 or 4 months from Jap Rock to Jupiter Inlet.  While I have caught some real quality fish this year the numbers have been low.  Bait is everywhere now, sometimes just too much bait, today for example I caught only 1 small snook and a blue runner, saw only 1 other snook caught.  Tarpon, snook, jacks were busting bait all over the place but just to busy to hit artificial, in these conditions live bait users may need to clip fins.

I spent the day at Istokpoga yesterday and got worked.  Water temp was ridiculously high at 94 degrees and some change.  Roughly nine hours of fishing and I got four small fish.  Mike stuck one or two.  I think the biggest might have gone two pounds.  That lake is fantastic to fish, but man, with heat like that the fish don't want to cooperate.

Lake Iso is usually very shallow and loaded with hydrilla, it is understandable the water temps are quite high.

About the memorable thing about my last 2 trips there was the steak at the Golden Corral...not to bad.

I was doing good up until last week, like clockwork September is always tough.

A 57 boat tourney I fished yesterday on Okeechobee took only 18 lbs to win. That's when you know the bite has slowed.

We broke off on 2 fish that would have gave us the win..blah blah blah..trying a new line, its coming off.

The few couple of months are usually tough.

Long road trips are pointless. When I fish, it will be in the Miami canal, A alley, or Lake Ida ... also...

Time to dust off the golf clubs.

Hawk and I fished Osborne last Thursday.  It was the evening tourney from 6p-10p.  We came in 2nd with 13 pounds for five fish, won big fish at 6.5

We have been averaging 10-18 pounds for 3.5-4 hours of fishing.  We will post pics and data at end of season.

You seem to be experiencing the same trend as everyone else in S FL. Slow days with less bites, less catches, more dinks and an occasional nice one thrown in. Fall can't get here soon enough...

My fishing hole is flooded and flowing hard....not even worth the effort to go out there. I picked up a couple of 4#'ers in some local neighborhood ponds on sunday.
