On your shakey heads...

On your shakey heads do you prefer the screw lock on them or the ones that just have the barb on the shank?

I use the screw-lock type.  Never tried the other.

I've been using the ones from *.  Instead of a screw lock they have a small hook.  I like them cause they dont tear the bait up as bad, but it seems after a few fish, the hooks gets loose and I've had a couple break.  I'm pretty hard on them though.

I use the Charlie Brewer Sliderhead.  It just has a notch in the shank by the weight.  I have been using this method for 6-8 years and absolutely love it--year round.

I use both. Both have advantages. I use biteme heads and picasso screw lock heads. The screw type heads are less maintenance and make it easier to keep you bait on. If your in an area with lots of small fish a screwlock head will keep you bait in the water alot longer because the worm wont slide down as much. The traditional heads usually put a kink in the worm which causes the bait to spiral more. If I am fishing deeper and I think I might get alot of hits on the fall I like the traditional head. For bottom dragging I like a screw in head. Also if use 3X plastics its impossible (for me anyway) to put them on a screwin head. But for really thin small plastics a screw in head is the only way to go the traditional heads tear them up too bad (4in roboworms, Shadshape worms for me). I cant tell a difference in hookups really.

I like the screw lock Reaction Innovations shakey head.  The spring does get straightened out sometimes and it's hard to get it back into position, but it doesn't happen very often.

I use both.  For open water I use the Picasso Shakedown which has a titanium spring.  For skipping docks, I use the Spro K-Finesse head.  

For some reason, I have trouble skipping the spring jigheads.  I can skip a jighead/barb with ease

Alright, it might just be me but, I've never caught anything using a shaky head before. Will it be because I fish from shore or is it because I don't use it often? :-/

You don't use it enough.

I have spot removers and just got molds to make my own screwlock ones.

I prefer the Owner Shaky Ultrahead with the CPS (centering pin system). If only they made them in painted finishes! I prefer the screwlock since I skip a lot of docks with my shakey heads and with just the post the bait tends to ball up too much.

I really like the Shaky 2 heads but I modify them with an Owner screw lock.  They really hold the bait securely even the Yamamoto baits.

I use the spring lock for the 1/8 oz football heads when using a thick worm like a Berkley Shaky Power worm.  However, I started with and for the most part still prefer the short shank 1/16 oz, 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz round ball heads for most of my Shaky head fishing.  

When I started using this technique we called it a jig worm?  Guess I am getting a bit older....

I use Spot-Removers that have a screw lock type but its not a wire.  Its solid and works well.
