Well my fishing partner and myself decided to fish a lake neither has fished in quite some time, Willow Slough in Morocco, IN. It has been 25 years years for me in open water and 51 years for him. Yes Old Cranky is old, LOL. We decided to go last Saturday even though they were calling for isolated thunderstorms, they were not at all isolated. As a matter of fact they were right over us and we were in a gully washer for about 1.5 hours.

Well you know what they say if you wait for perfect weather to fish you will never go fishing.

This lake is about 1200 acres and trolling motor only. Average depth is less then 4 feet with lots of weeds, some pads and submergent brush. Perfect for a Rage Tail Toad!!!!

Sorry Big O it was not to be. As the weather did not deter us neither would our choice of presentation. We figured them out, they preferred beating into the mid-lake brush with a spinner bait and boy did they smack em.

End result was 41 landed. smallest about 14 inches. A couple of 4 lb'er and about 6 better then 3 lbs. Wet feet, sore thumbs and smiles on our faces is what our old friend left us.

WE SHALL RETURN!

Moral of the story, give an old friend a call sometime.
