jeosbo01 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Picked this up a couple of weeks ago but have no idea who made it or how old it is..any ideas??? Quote
farmpond1 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I don't know but I'd hold on to this one. It's too cool to sell. Quote
jeosbo01 Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 I don't collect lures and bought this one to use...just trying to figure out how foolish I would be to do so... but you are right, it is a cool spinner 8-) Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 What makes you think you're foolish? I have done well with these: http://www.secretweaponlures.com/sidearm.htm Quote
jeosbo01 Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 What makes you think you're foolish? I just want to make sure it is nothing of any value before I take it out (and knowing my luck loose it on the first cast then find out it was worth a house payment). The place I got it is kind of like a Gun shop/indoor flea market...you really never know what you are going to find in there. Quote
Olebiker Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 That looks like an old Bomber Bushwhacker. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 its definitley old. you can tell by the skirt style. they don't make them like that anymore. Quote
jeosbo01 Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 The skirt feels like nylon or something along those lines, I haven't seen many like it for sure. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 It is a Bomber lure. The head paint is the identifier. I'm surprised that the skirt hasn't disintegrated by now. I have several single and double Colorado spinnerbaits that are the same color. The skirt is vinyl. Quote
jeosbo01 Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 I was suprised to see the skirt in the condition its in...I could tell it was old before I bought it but the skirt feels like it is still very strong. Quote
Super User CWB Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 That looks like an old Bomber Bushwhacker. X2 Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted December 22, 2008 Super User Posted December 22, 2008 From an old advertizement, all the Bomber spinnerbaits in all configurations were called Bushwhackers. Quote
jeosbo01 Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Looks like you guys are right on the money with a Bomber Bushwacker. Now for my next question...should I keep this put up someplace or would it be something you would use (read: is this a collectible item or just a strange little lure)? I'm not interested in selling it, but if it is something really uncommon I would rather get it to someone that will appreciate it as more than just a spinner bait (guess the coin collector in me is just coming out, except I know coins).
