fishin-boy Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 witch will be a better pick a regular spinner bait or a roster tail <mepps> Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted December 23, 2008 Super User Posted December 23, 2008 Both are fish catchers. Regular spinners generally catch bigger fish but the in lines will get big ones occasionaly. In lines are notorious line twisters. Use a BALL BEARING swivel to reduce twist. Blue Fox Vibrax inlines are a good choice. Quote
fathom Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 i think a lot of this depends on what the fish are telling you. depending on seasonal patterns, i generally start large...and on top. if you work your way down thru sizes and water columns, that first fish will tell you everything. Quote

fathom Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 sound travels 5 times faster in water than out. there are times you want as little sound as possible...rattlebaits are not always a plus. Quote

fathom Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 most days, an inline will always catch you numbers. most days, a good spinner will always catch you size. 8-) Quote
Super User Dan: Posted December 23, 2008 Super User Posted December 23, 2008 Inlines are little fish magnets. I'm pretty sure they will outfish a spinnerbait 99% of the time, but spinnerbaits will almost always catch bigger fish on average. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted December 23, 2008 Super User Posted December 23, 2008 They are fish catchers. I use mepps #4 & #5 which are much bigger than the average inline spinners you see people using. I don't consider them small fish catchers because the #5 weights @ 1/2 oz and that ain't a small meal. I've caught plenty of good size bass with those. I like them so much that i resorted to just making them now. Quote
