I hit up a new small community pond because I hear that there are some decent sized fish in there.  As a matter of fact, they say there are some BIG bass in there.  Well after seeing what they would want to bite, I pick out a blue gill Bandit 100 crank.  Give it a good flick and bam......fish on, I set the hook and about jerked this lil fell out of the water from about 25 yards out......First time for me to catch a blue gill on a blue gill crank bait :D

Bluegill are vicious.  If they could grow to the size of bass they would be the number one sport fish.   ;D

That one you caught is good eatin' size.  I would like to have me a few of them.

I have caught Bluegill on practically every bass lure I have. They will attach anything!

As Big Tom said, if they grew the size of LMB, I would fish for nothing else. Pound for pound, I think they fight harder than anything!

Nice!  I just started fishing a community pond that backs up to my house, and I can't believe there's decent fishing there.  I've caught channel catfish, crappie, and a few 15 inch bass.  I've seen some gar in there as well.

I've been fishing salt water all my life, so it's been a crash course in fresh water fishing lately.  NOW I get why people fish for bass - a lot of fun and it's a lot easier to find fishing spots.  I typically have to drive 1+ hour to the coast for salt water fishing.

Spring time on Sodus Bay, Lake O., so the pea soup hadn't arrived.  That wasn't my bait, but blue and chartreuse cranks pay big dividends there.  I think I was throwing a spinnerbait with a similar color scheme that day.
