Well went to the Guadalupe River in South Texas for about 3 hours wade fishing and did pretty well. Caught my first smallmouth. I fiannly had caught & largemouths, 4 smallmouths, and this wierd bluegill type fish not sure what it was please tell me if you know.

Holy crap that is a long smallmouth! Nice catches!

I expect one of our fish experts would be more reliable but based on my knowledge, albeit limited,  that blue fish looks like some sort of cichlid.

Nice fish buddy! My friend had a fish tank with oscars and cichlids in it. Those things are aggresive!! Somebody must've let that one go in the river!  ;D

Yea they do have a little bit more kick to them today though i went to same place and caught 2 gars on a rope lure, 4 large mouth one went about 3 3/4 plbs and a this wierd suck type fish. Please tell me if you know what that last fish is but im going to post some more pics of it in other fish catagopry. O and sorry for pics being so big you might have to scroll sideways to see it .DSCN1006.jpg

It is a Plecostamus. Its a very common aquarium fish. Someone released them/it into your river.

As a kid with an aquarium, I kept two of them; they supposedly helped keep the tank clean of algae. They seemed to be more of a goldbricker fish than anything though, just sat there lookin' ugly. ;D  Nice catch in the first pic.
