bigbasshunter Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 So we headed out about noon today from occoquan and headed downstream to belmont marina. Picked up 6 fish all 2-4lbs right on the edge of the weeds in the first 200yrds we worked, about 30mins. Then headed back upsteam working the southern shoreline with the boat in 8-10ft water, nailed a bunch of dinks and one keeper 20incher. headed across to fairfax yacht club and burned them up on the spinners ticking the tops of the water celery patches. Started raining a little so we started working our way back and came across a school of huge gar, started throwing flukes and immediatly hooked up on a huge 5-6ft beast. Managed to get it to the boat and it snapped the line. Switched to a spinner and hooked up on both these pigs within 50yds of each other 5-7 and 5-9. And then this monster 8lbr decided he wanted whiplash. Quote
