There's a lot of things I could wish for but I never dreamed of a short 4 hour trip to the lake could have been so great! My best fishing buddy/son, Gavin and I got out for just a short while here lately and man was it on! We started out where I left off, ended, and will start back.....DEEP!

We caught over 20 keeper fish and had to leave some still biting. Gavin is still learning to fish deep cranks but he is coming around real well. He just needs a little longer arms for some longer cast and he'll be just fine. ;D

You know, there's something special there when you get to crush em' with your best bud! I think we both left our hearts on that ledge. I'll admit I caught the toad Gavin is holding in the pic. Sure wish he would have though. He isn't a great photographer but excellent at holding a big fish. He did catch several fish himself!

That's AWESOME CJ! I just got my 5 yr old son Dillon into fishing this year. We haven't been able to get out a lot, but I'm hoping he catches his first bass so I can post a thread like this.

Congrats on the nice fish and I'm glad you have a great partner.  :)

Gavin looks pretty happy in that picture. It won't be long before he really grows into some big fish. Well done!
