Super User Long Mike Posted June 7, 2010 Super User Posted June 7, 2010 This week-end Jack (Fishfordollars) and I fished the Skeeter Owners Tournament at Lake Fork. Jack owns a Skeeter and invited me to be his co-angler. To my great fortune I agreed to fish with him. Prior to this tournament my PB was 4-6. Today I brought in a 5-6 AND a 7-1! When I pulled in that seven-pounder I was so excited and shaking so badly that Jack had to remove the fish from the net and then remove the hook. I was just a pile of jelly. Jack thanks for being a great baby-sitter, an even better teacher, and a great friend. I promise that I will get better with the net. As for the rest of the tournament story, I'll leave that to Jack. Here's the photo of me and my PB. Muddy, we are tied at PB's Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 7, 2010 Super User Posted June 7, 2010 Way to go. Great fish. Hope you guys did good at the tournament. Quote

BASSINATORBIGJOE Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 CONGRATULATIONS MIKE, THAT'S A GREAT FISH. WAS THAT A WEIGH FISH FOR THE TOURNAMENT OR PREFISH DAY? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 7, 2010 Super User Posted June 7, 2010 Congratulation two times !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted June 7, 2010 Super User Posted June 7, 2010 I had to force him to take a picture of the 5lb 8oz fish he caught an hour later. Seems he got spoiled pretty quick. It would have beaten his old PB by a pound. He was still shaking from the first one. LOL. Mike post up the other pics. That pic just does not do it justice. The one on my camera is blurred from you shaking so bad. If they continue you might want to see a doctor. LOL. Quote
Big-O Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 WTG Mike and Jack Now that's the way to set a new PB....just kick it around then stomp on it ;D Glad y'all had a blast Big O www.ragetail.com Quote

Super User CWB Posted June 7, 2010 Super User Posted June 7, 2010 Not too shabby for an old MOOK like yourself. I guess you used a net so you wouldn't fall out of the boat while trying to land her. Great job bud! Quote

I guess you used a net so you wouldn't fall out of the boat while trying to land her. Great job bud! Ken, I didn't fall out of the boat, but Jack did. He landed on his back and hit a submerged stump with a glancing blow. He's a little sore, but none the worse for wear. He's also a little sore at me because of my inept use of the net. He lost a big one at the side of the boat because of me. :-[ Quote

I knew the night before when I tried to hone it I should have changed it out. Quote
Dinky Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Great job, LM! Everything seems bigger in Texas--even the fish! What did you catch the two bigguns on? Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted June 8, 2010 Super User Posted June 8, 2010 I need to correct Long Mike on his fish weights. I had my scale set on pounds and ounces not hundredths. His fish weighed 7lbs. 10oz(Not 7.01) and the other weighed 5lbs and 8oz(Not 5.06). There you have it. Two very good fish and i just wanted to set the record straight for him. Quote
CJ Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Way to go Mike!!! That's gotta be an awesome feeling! Very big and beautiful (the fish, not you ;D)! Congrats bud! CJ Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted June 9, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 9, 2010 Many thanks to you all. The two big ones were caught on a Rage Tail frog, swimming it across the top of the grass. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted June 9, 2010 Super User Posted June 9, 2010 True, but the other 5 pounder Saturday at 2:15 was on the dreaded Chrome/Blueback Trap in 4' of water, just off a big bream bed . I didn't figure you wanted to mention that. LOL. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted June 9, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 9, 2010 Uh, I think it was in about one foot of water. ;D Quote
