MasterBasster09 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I hear Goose pond is a good place to fish. I really don't want to just wander around aimlessly. We really wanted to fish some pads. Where is a good launching point and what other advice do any of you "veterans" have for our trip?? Thanks in advance. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 4, 2010 Super User Posted June 4, 2010 The ramp at Goose Pond is pretty good. $5 fee to launch there. Very secure location. The ramp on Mink Creek is a nice one as well. Waterfront looks good, but I haven't put in there yet. I don't even a 1/10th of the lake, but the only pad stems I saw on my last trip there (early March) were up the river at the big bridge. There is a ramp on the east side of the bridge, but I have heard a few reports of theft there. You really can't go wrong spending time in North Sauty Creek (Goose Pond) or Mink Creek. That said, all of my G experience is early in the year. Hearing reports that the fish are very deep right now. Good luck! Quote
Edro Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Put in at goose pond, go under the bridge to your right. As soon as you cross the bridge look to your left, there are some pads in the second holler. I just got back from there about 3 weeks ago and the pads where already on top the water there. Keep an eye out they will probably be some schooling bass around as well. Good luck. P.S. It is extremely shallow outside the channel past the first bridge. Quote
